I hadn't either....But man, can they play!

I'm always amazed at how athletic and energetic people seemed to be back then. When you see dancers and musicians from the 40's and 50's doing their thing, I am impressed.

I know that's a general statement, I'm sure there were plenty of portly, slow movers too....lol

Here's one of the group with solo by Andy Tielman, done in the typical DooWop beat of the day. And Baldo....I was chasing those poodle skirts and bobby socks back when the true beginning of Rock 'n Roll arrived on the scene. And buddy, we could dance back then, not the spastic crap of today. A slow dance is when you could really get your belt buckle polished because it wasn't at arms length, was up close and personal. And if you've ever watched some dancers going hard to a boogie woogie, it brings back some fond memories for me. I'd probably have another heart attack if I tried it today.  Grin

such cortorsionist with that guitar never seen that much behind the back and all.

great 50s era music and I do agree they could really shake a leg or cut a rug back then dancing for sure.

On our senior class trip in the 80s we were on a riverboat and what seemed like professional dancers were doing some incredible flips and boogie woogy 50s songs was really impressed how they could flip and contorted bodies dancing as male and female.  Just watching them was a workout am sure they were dead tired after a few hours of that much exercise.  A few in our class attempted to go out and keep up but they just got in the way of those pros.
