Page can be translated, but mentions 7 sp DCT transmission among other things.

Very interesting ! I'm not sure what a DCT transmission is ? Is it a non hydraulic automatic ? Shift manually or automatically ?

Rumors have been swirling all about this year that Honda would bring the DCT to the new Goldwing.  My guess is you will be able to get the manual or DCT ( at more expensive price ) like they did with the CTX700 line.  I hope it is a huge success.

Looks awesome (a bit inspired by the K1600GT?).

But notice at the top left, just below the 'HONDA' text, it reads Image CG (Computer Graphics?).

Is this a concept/CG rendering or a photo of a real bike?

I noticed that too. I didn't know what to make of it. You might be onto something there.

I don't have the answer on whether that's the real deal or a concept but if memory serves me right, the Rune was put in to production with no engineer changes from the T2 concept bike.  So, as far as Honda goes, the've already established that precident.

Sounds almost like the 'paddle shift' option in cars?!

What I would be interested in seeing what the gear ratios will be in a 6th and 7th gears.  The original 5 speed has the equivalent of two overdrive gears (4th and 5th).  I know many riders wanted a 6th gear but by adding two is Honda going to make 1st and 2nd gear bigger.  This interested rider would like to know.

Looks like they are trying to remake the 2014-2015 Valkarie. does not look like Goldwing, bike is more crotch rocket style maybe more electronics but looks  stripped like the new Valk style. Put more pizaz in the engine which is what sells and what got the old Valk so popular in styling. Mfg's are always teasing and never get a style out that realy sells. All ther consept vehicles in the shows and what do we get, Chevy spark, Volt,  and bunch of hybreds.   Sad

looks like trying to be like bmw1600 in styling more european look with maybe an electronic windshield up/down as BMW has had for years.  That would be nice and really am fine with normal 7 speed foot shifting gears like is normal,  no DCT needed but I guess some will might want it costing more am sure?

HOnda has to do something to shake it up been cookie cutter same old looks and design for years and years.  9 times out of 10 Honda though does their research and if 7 speeds is reliable,  they will have a winner again on their hands probably dropping in 7th gear to under 1500 rpms or even less am sure.  I find after 70 mph the 5th gear on our goldwing engines the rpms are up there over 2000 rpms and much past 75 mph the radio is harder to hear but mostly due to wind noise vs. engine higher rpms but does contribute some as well.     Dropping rpms to under 1500 would be nice to have for a quieter ride at least in 7th gear?

The honda dct in their smaller displacement CTX 700 bikes have paddle shift option.

Honda has DCT in 4 models.
The CTX 700 was first offered with a 6 sp or a DCT (also 6 sp). The 2017 CTX 700 is available only with DCT in the US. The DCT version outsold the standard 6 sp.
The NC700X is available with 6 sp or DCT (6sp)
The Africa Twin is offered the same.
The VFR 1200X is the same too.
The DCT can be left to shift as an automatic or shifted manually by the rider with up and down buttons on the left switch box. All have a choice of driving modes, drive, sport, and the Africa Twin and VFR1200x have some specialized modes catering to off road riding.

Honda is very committed to the DCT and I expect to see it in there CB500 models pretty soon.
I am not surprised to see it will be on the Wing-I bet it will be well received.
