New Haven IN

« on: January 21, 2017, 06:14:01 PM »

Albeit a short one. Had some running to do with the wife this morning but around two o'clock  I went out to the garage, took my bike off of the charger, fixed a wire to my accessory fuse block and took it off its jack. Fired right up. The wife and I had a plan. Ride to Grabil Indiana to the Grabil Inn for some pie. Took off and headed northeast out of New Haven towards Grabil. When we got there I had a piece of thier fine Rubard crumble pie with a hot tea. Twila had the coconut cream and coffee.

We are sitting there enjoying our pie when I look up and see a guy coming in the door with a helmet and riding jacket on. Didn't think much of it (thinking just another guy enjoying the unseasonally warn January Indiana weather) until he took his helmet off and I realized it was my buddy "Craigy". He rides a Ducati Monstar. He was on a group ride with friends when he saw my Valkyrie outside the restaurant and just stopped in to say hi. I invited him to sit but he had to go.  Did a quick fist bump and off he went.  Most of you know my Valk because it has a very unique paint job. It stands out. No mistaking it is mine.

Your bike is beautiful  cooldude I tried to get a ride in today but I had to go into work this morning and took longer than expected. By the time I got home it was 4 and we had dinner plans with my brother in law and his family. Glad you got out for a ride and pie  Smiley

Thanks for posting the report Mark, its not often we get
2 up reports in the winter months  And better Twila on the back than the Bovine   laugh

How about modifying the post to put a pic of your bike in there?

What better time to get back with my VRCC friends than to post a pic of my son Mark and his wife Twila at Inzane Bellaire.
I've been lurking here and its satisfying to me that things have settled down some with more rides posted.

cooldude glad to see you back Old Man.  cooldude Thanks for posting the pic. I would have remembered seeing that bike. If he had it at Spearfish he must have kept it locked in the vault. On a personal level, let me please say that if I had any role in your hiatus I apologize.  Smiley

Meathead. The wife and I were there but you are correct. That was the year I broke my left hand ring finger the month before. believe me I would had much rather been on the bike. Here is another picture of it. This was taken during the Belaire MI Inzane with Big Mac in the background....

Saw that bike for the first time in Morgantown this past June all lit up at night,  and was impressed with the lighting. Was equally impressed when I got a good look at her in the daylight the following day. Love the paint scheme  cooldude

Believe me I would have loved to be on the bike at Spearfish as well

Mad6Gun came to my rescue at the Honda shop in DesMoines and gave me a ride 1st to RJ then to the airport to rent the Maxima

Gman did eventually come back to the side of the road where my plug (it was a big ass hole in that 200 series tire ya think? )  blew out and got to laugh at me while I was picked up by the wrecker tow truck then

I sent him down the road to meet up with O2soon and his brother

It does look like the outline of a squirrel head but I dont know

Mrs. Kep and I are in North Central Indiana and had 64 degree temps here. Had some errands to run in the morning that I suggested we take the Valk on..was about 45 dgress or so then..she said it was too cold to ride...When we got done and were headed back home she said "we should go for a ride " ..I chided her and said " Nooooo...it's toooo cold"..told her that I was just going to take it out on my own since it was "tooo cooollllld ' Hahahah...had to let her beg a little..then we had a great ride !!
