My, my, how people change. I think Trump ought to run this on every available outlet and just add "I approve this message."

They need to lock up every one spouting this crap and throw away the key. Make them grow their own food no electricity no indoor plumbing. And they don't work and grow their food they no eat, would be singing a different tune in short order.
No kidding about locking them up either. If it were me spouting he same stuff against Black people where do you think I would be?

Want to start limiting who can enter our country?  Fine.  It is well within his power to do that.  Where he went wrong was in detaining over 100 people who were travelling legally.  Step outside of the Liberal/Conservative argument for a second and honestly ask yourself how you truly feel about POTUs's administration so far.  Do you think he appears Presidential?  Do you feel that a grown man, much less the POTUS ought to be Tweeting his every emotion like a 12 year old girl?  Look at your city, Is it calmer out there than it was two weeks ago?  Politics and idealism aside, the man is a dangerous egomaniacal bull in a china shop.  You may think you won but we all lost.

This should all come as no surprise to anyone, Alien. Trump ran his campaign on these promises, and he is following through. Did you watch the video above. Did Clinton the liar follow through. No! He just did what he did best, and chased women around the White House. Trump is doing what he said he will do. If Hillary had won, and pushed more of her liberal agenda on this country, there would probably not be as many protests. However, there would be an equal amount of unhappy people in this country. People like me, who go to work, with no real way in today's world, of truly retiring. The government keeps pushing social security benefits back, raising Medicare, raising taxes, and expecting myself, and others in the middle to pay for everything. I, and half of all hard working Americans, are tired of carrying the country on our backs. So let the people who want to protest go ahead and keep protesting. I could care less. I watched the Wall Street protests, and like these protests, eventually we'll all get tired of them.

Grin  325k immigrants entering the country, 109 were detained. Yes i'm fine with them detaining people especially immigrants coming here. When i went to Dominican Republic a few years ago i was detained for several hours with hundreds of questions. I was just on vacation  but they wanted to know my every move while i was there. I don't know why liberals get so butt hurt over someone trying to make our country safer for its citizens. Obama was willing to play games with our lives by letting everyone in. Trump will not play those stupid games.

Watch the various "Border Security" series on Netflix to see what travelers go through every day when entering Australia, Canada, UK and USA.

It makes the recent USA flap seem like a storm in a teacup. The willing being led by the nose once more.

Where was the outrage two weeks ago when the former POTUS did the same thing?
Actually, what he did was worse, he sent them back to the wolves.

Sometimes when the doctor prescribes painful, bad tasting medicine with painful side effects the patient will loudly complain, but that doesn't reduce the necessity of taking your medicine.

After 8 years of our country getting sicker and sicker, it's going to take quite a bit of bad tasting medicine to heal us of the self-inflicted infection we've given ourselves.

Yeah, President Trump says some stupid things, I don't agree with everything he's done or how he's done it, but the openness of his administration, the direct communication, warts and all, has been very refreshing, especially after coming off of the most closed, guarded, rehearsed administration of my life time at least.

I wish someone would hold the media accountable for what they are doing; inciting demonstrations, riots and spreading mis-information. Evidently the media thinks it is running this country!

And another thing...

Isn't it funny how much of the outrage is based on WHO proposes a policy, not WHAT the policy is?

You all must surely admit they didn't think this thru worth a damn ? Turning back interpreters who helped us for years ? Confiscating green cards and legal documents ? Separating children ? Not informing your Defense Secretary, your Homeland Security Secretary, your Sec. Of State about it ? Doesn't sound like a successful business man to me . I don't know if his executive order is going to help or hurt out cause. But am I alone in seeing the irony in these E.O.'s ? For 8 years their use was next to traitorism, now not a peep.  Smiley

Gavin, our friend Wiliow is spending his day at the hospital. Lets agree not to make it any rougher for him.  cooldude I'm sorry you feel that way about Obama . I understand you are happy with Trumps E.O.'s. it's just funny to me how some could say Obama was trying to be a King when he couldn't get the Congress to negotiate on anything and then used EO's. Now just a few days in without even trying get legislation he is considered a great leader.

Perhaps a more artful job could have been done to cover those in flight, and those who have been helping us militarily (or like spies, interpreters, and others), but it needed done right away..... and he did it right away.

Mistakes/exceptions will get fixed in due course.

I hope he keeps doing stuff right away (with any necessary fixes on the back end).

Letting corporate Washington bureaucracy slow stuff down to a crawl is the wrong approach.  Let them work the backside fixes, not the up front policy. The 95% correct policy should lead the way right now, and the 5% fixes can come later.  A number of people have been inconvenienced, but the US population has been served (and protected).

The more the media and left scream, the more you know he is doing a good job.

Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! cooldude cooldude cooldude

This bull in a china shop leadership style may be just what the doctor ordered.  Defund and/or rescind all or most of Zerocare, and then let the bureaucracy catch up with the fixes or repairs (which is always going to be easier than waiting for the perfect final draft of any replacement legislation, passed though both houses).  It would also put more pressure on both parties to get the fixes done ASAP.

Build the wall now, get Mexico to pay later.

And so on.

To any who would ask, How is this different from Zero's rampant use of phone, pen and regs?  The answer is simple;  I was ideologically, philosophically and politically opposed to each and every executive order he passed.  Conversely I believe it likely I will be (strongly) in support of all of Trumps actions.

I agree this could have been done with a little more forethought but would the reaction have been any different?  I don't like the E.O's either but much of the one's  the President has issued were to undo the E.O.'s of Obama.  Did people actually expect the President to not do what he said?  I see no difference it the moratorium Trump has issued then the ones Obama issued.  It may include more countries but to suggest is a ban on just Muslims is ridiculous.  The more the Democrats howl and whine about all this the more support they are going to loose from everyday citizens.

Yes the people expected him to not do what he said. We are so use to having presidents that lie and cheat their way into office that we forget what the truth really is. Everyone is shocked Trump is actually doing what he said he would do. The left can't handle it while the right sees it as a glimpse of hope.

I was detained at an airport loooooong before Trump was even a TV star.  So, 100 people were detained, on the first day of new travel restrictions being put into place?  I say that's pretty damn good.  How well did the ACA on its first day, week, month........

Update today on this, seems like they're getting things under control from the initial chaos:

According to a press conference by Secretary of Homeland Security Kelly and officials at Immigration, in the first 72 hours since the executive order on travel was signed:
• 1,000,000 travelers came to the U.S. via air.
• 500,000 of those travelers were foreign nationals.
• 721 travelers from the affected countries were stopped from boarding flights to the U.S.
• 1,060 travelers who would otherwise have been denied entry were given waivers because they were lawful permanent residents of the U.S.
• 75 immigrant and non-immigrant visa holders were given waivers.
Going forward:
• Lawful permanent residents and special immigrant visa holders from the affected countries WILL being allowed to board flights to the U.S., where they will be processed for waivers upon arrival.
• Immigrant visa holders and non-immigrant visa holders will continue to be denied travel to the U.S.
• Dual citizens WILL be allowed entry as long as they have a valid passport from an unaffected country.
• Refugees who were in transit or had been planning to travel here, or who face undue hardships will be considered for waivers. 872 such refugees will be allowed entry this week.
• The DHS is abiding by every court order.

It took too long for a Trump to come forward.  Had Trump followed Clinton, Immigration reform and deportation would be easier.  He could just point to Clinton's speech and the applause he got and Clinton's high approval rating and used it to further his agenda.  But the Democrat party has moved too far to the left.  Clinton was more moderate than even his own wife if you compare their agendas.  Hillary is far left on globalization, quite opposite of her husband's speech.

You gotta be kidding me.............  Not one incidence of interpreters who helped us for years being stranded, no confiscating green cards and legal documents, and no separating of children?  But the left media swore all these would happen.

The immediacy of social media is enabling the poisoning of the sheep

Kids believe what they are told by movie stars instead of READING the actual law they pout and demonstrate lack of reasoning ability

It has gotten worse every year.

Trump is doing what he promised to do.

I hope the present acting attorney general is not long for her job

The job of the parents to check facts for their kids is more important now than ever before

We have to do a better job of teaching how to reason

Minutes? More of your alternative facts huh.

Let's see Trump became President Jan 20th. She was a hold over from the previous president. So Jan 20th until around 9pm Jan 30th.

Oh, maybe you're counting that time in minutes?

Within minutes of saying her dept. wouldn't  carry out the EO. That seemed pretty clear. Sorry for the confusion.

Sounds if you were a boss and one of your employees refused to do a job for you you would be OK with it? Or would you find someone else? I know what I would do.
