Awesome!

They certainly have made a come back in Minnesota the last 10 years or so.  They float by at tree top level now on a regular basis.  Although, I think they took a few Loon chicks off our little lake last year; not happy about that.

Thanks for posting up.

One can always see them near the Mississippi River and last year I saw them near my home.  The Red Tail Hawks have some competition...

Up around Beulah, Michigan they actually had a camera placed up 80 feet in a tree last year with live feeds of and eagle and its babies.  Then this came out in Sept. and made the national news.  However, though quite grainy, I think there is enough there to say it was a person dressed in cheap suit, or perhaps guilley suit.  The chicks are very cool though.

Welcome to my Back Yard!

http://www.cbc.ca/natureofthings/episodes/eagles-next-door  (viewable in Canada only, maybe a youtube available?)

Picked up my packages yesterday, saw a few eagles standing in their old nests. Maybe about 20 eagles in leafless trees and flying above. I drive about a mile away from the dump they show in the video, so many eagles in the area or flying into/out of it. They are also around all year, easy food.

A local group of eagle cam. I don't know which ones work, or too soon in the year, before nesting.

Thanks for putting that up TP. Not to far from you we seen a couple golden eagles couple years ago over by Bay City. Watch them take I believe a too heavy carp from a Bald Eagle, it was pretty spectacular. Wabeshaw has a National Eagle Center.  Seen on TV once that A town up in Alaska the people are pissed about them because there are so many and people get dive bomb a lot and cannot do anything.   Come over on my side of the river if you want to see Eagles. A good place is around Waumande off 88. Just look for a Turkey Farm and you'll find lots of Eagles. Few years back in the spring we seen about 50 Eagles in a 3 mile stretch.  Watch the chicks at feeding time.

I believe the story in Alaska you are referring to was in a little town called Homer. Alaska has plenty of eagles and people enjoy and respect them. The problem arose when this little old lady started feeding them in the winter time (which was illegal). It caused them to congregate unnaturally and assume that anybody with a bucket on the beach was there to feed them. If I remember she passed away a few years ago and the problem is no more. Eagles are wild, majestic birds and should be treated as such. At least in my opinion.

Did anyone notice when the eggs were laid?  I read it takes about 35 days for them to hatch
