I don't get when people ride motorcycles in shorts, I learned at a young age that is not a good idea.

It's a V twin so it must be a Harley  Grin

Shame she didn't do a check behind before moving off. I know, I know it was a small parking lot but that's precisely when crap happens.

I like old school, but not that old school have enough stuff collecting dust not used much at my house already.  If vehicle related strictly since I am not a collector of cars/cycles/etc. not ridden much,  I say if not driving it every now and again,  why buy it, but that is just me...

As far as riding in shorts and t-shirt,  I do it on my Valk all the time in the summer well over 50% of my riding time is in shorts.  ONLY issue I have ever had is twice have got stung by bees creeping up my shorts in the nether regions stinging me.

I see riding in shorts/t-shirt not much different in viewpoints than not wearing a helmet, which I wear almost all the time.  I understand the risks of going down while riding, but prefer comfort over care.  I could care less what others wear while riding whether safety gear or not, should be personal choice, including helmet laws in some states required.

The bee thing, kind of creeped me out, I could almost feel the sting!  Back when, I laid my leg against the hot exhaust and almost lost control and crashed, far as helmet, MI. don't require one any more, but I wear a carbon fiber one, and I always wear one, even for test drive.  I am like you in the sense that is don't concern me what others do, except if it can take me down or cost me for their stupidity.

knock on wood, I have never touched the exhaust or engine hot spots ever on my Valkyrie while riding in shorts.  Riding attire and helmet use should be optional in all states as far as I see it.  If someone is stupid enough to drive in flip flops, more power to them,  just do not bitch when they fall off and have to use your bare feet like Fred Flintstone and Barney.

I have worn just a few times flip flops, but the kind that has velcro straps, so they do not fall off, ONLY on my 250cc scooter and ONLY short 1-2 miles rides downtown.  For some odd reason,  I feel safer wearing closed toe shoes and helmet vs. when I wear shorts.  Besides for 4 months of winter, I wear shorts anytime it is above 50 degrees out almost all the time.
