Two halves, two games.
Thirty-one unanswered points.
It's a team sport, but Tom Brady is legendary.

Honestly, I can't give Brady all the credit, he did well in the second half and during the overtime but, the rest of the team came alive, their defense tightened up, their receivers started catching balls they should have caught during the first half and the Pats front line started giving Brady time to stand in the pocket. An excellent team effort. I'll give the team and Belichick all the credit, not just Brady. Someone quick, check that game ball for correct air pressure...... What really disappointed me was the commercials and half time show. Pretty boring IMHO.

Well, Trump did predict a Pat's win. Everyone laughed, especially at half time. But, let's not go there.

What really disappointed me was the commercials and half time show. Pretty boring IMHO. Thats some pretty good points Rams. Brady was under considerable pressure and a lot of passes dropped. But Brady was pin point second half with 31 unanswered points. He set a Superbowl record for yardage. The Patriots defense deserves a lot of credit, especially when the Falcons looked like a lock for a field goal to go up by 11. Also getting 2 point conversions in the NFL are damn tough, but they had creative plays ready and they worked. Just an amazing game.

I had that sinking feeling during half time, but also knew the Patriots had the second half to come back. And they did, in awesome fashion. My hat's off to the Falcon's, they are a great team and will be the one to watch next year.

I'm not a Patriots or Falcons fan, but decided at the beginning to cheer for the underdog Falcons. What a terrific game! It's too bad that overtime chances are determined by a coin toss, with the sudden-death touchdown rule. I prefer CFL overtime rules; the teams take turns with possession of the football, and if one team gets more points with their turn, the game is over. If they are still tied after each team has their possession, two more possessions (one each) are played. Time clock is not run, other than the time to snap the football.

And we only need 3 downs to get a first down. And yes, that was a fantastic game. Didn't care who won, just wanted a good game. It definitely was.

A lot of people, including me, thinks James White, the RB from the WI Badgers prior, should be MVP and not Brady. 3 TDs and a 2 point conversation and he ran his keester off very well.
If the Patsies did not miss an extra point in the 1st half, it would not have gone into O.T. more than likely. Scoring not one, but TWO, 2 point conversions being a must was pretty impressive.
I thought 97 and somewhat 93 defensive linemen for the Falcons had Brady's number most of the night, but too little, too late.

So the Edelman catch was a set up? Set up by the Football Gods? The ball bounced off a Atlanta defencemen and Edelman, while in the middle of 6 Atlanta arms, still caught the ball. In the fourth with 3 mins left, Pats are down by 8 points. It's 3rd and 10 and Brady throws from his own end zone to the 25, where Hogan catches the ball against the wishes of 2 Atlanta defensemen, to continue the drive. This was preset? What about the bogus call when McClennen jumped the offensive line to block the extra point. The Refs called him for jumping to soon, which he clearly didn't. Was that called because it happened in the second period and the fix was to happen only in the third and fourth? How about the non call on Atlanta #34 Poole for pass interference on Amendola in the fourth. Grabbed his shirt and pulled him down. Non called for the fix? The excellent Atlanta defense let Amendola in for 2 to tie the game because the fix was in? That's a BIG fix with a lot of BIG men that want nothing more than to hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy. I don't know anything about conspiracies, but I believe opinions of bad, or non calls validity, are dependent on what sideline you're standing on.

I thought the game was called pretty well.
If they called every technical holding call (O and D), games would take 6 hours, and people would stop watching the games. I think they try to call holding when the hold directly impacts the play, not those away from the ball/play, unless a tackle.

IMHO, the game was fairly called, mistakes were made on both sides of the ball and by both teams.
What I don't care for is what I consider an unfair overtime rule. Regardless of who won the coin toss or the game. Please remember, I didn't have a dog in that fight or care who won but, I think it sucks that the first team to score in overtime (other than a field goal) wins. The Falcons should have been allowed to at least get the ball and four downs to move it. That doesn't happen in this or any other regular season game.
While both teams knew the rules and Atlanta hasn't said a word (to my knowledge), IMHO the overtime rules suck. They should have been given the opportunity to get the ball after the Patriots scored. That, needs to be fixed for next season.

I think in college its that way, both teams can get ball with chance to get a TD from the 25
someone will correct me if I'm wrong I am sure
Seemed to me the Falcons got called on pass interference several times away from the play but regardless they choked in the 2nd half not protecting the QB long enough for him to make pass or throw the ball away The coach/offensive coordinator just was no match for Belichek

He told me ALL games are controlled by the refs calls. He told to watch a game that was on that wknd. he told me if the game was close within 3 pts, there would be a ref call whereas stopping the drive for a touchdown and only allowing a field goal to be kicked. this way there was a tie on all betting due to the point spread. It happened just like he told me it would. I never made a bet ever again.

I don't understand the way point spreads work, as I work to hard to make a living than to give up $$$ over any ball game. But, I have been know to make small friendly bets with people that have no idea what their doing. Besides, there's chrome out there I haven't purchased yet. My understanding is the spread was Patriots by 3, and they covered that, so how is that a tie in the world of Bookies?

I didn't care about either team. there are ALL types of betting going on during a game. Its a billion dollar industry, how do u think the bookies stay in business, point spreads. I worked with a bookie yrs ago when I just got out of school. He had a special little four page newsletter which all bookies had. he said if u want to bet u need this. I believe you are delusional.

I don't understand the way point spreads work, as I work to hard to make a living than to give up $$$ over any ball game. But, I have been know to make small friendly bets with people that have no idea what their doing. Besides, there's chrome out there I haven't purchased yet. My understanding is the spread was Patriots by 3, and they covered that, so how is that a tie in the world of Bookies? hey, did I just get slammed here ?
