These old broken bones sure like having a backrest helping them along. I wish I could remember what/which one I have. Its been on for 20 yrs. It is not a very big one, I didn't like that one. I like a little support, but, didn't like the feel of the bigger back rest.

Harry, you should call Ultimate and ask Dez the owner what, if any, back seat will fit with a Kingboy with backrest installed, other than his King backseat.  He's a pretty good guy, and will give you a straight answer.

Mustang is the only aftermarket seat seller who makes no distinction in seat sizes between interstates and std/tourers, so their backseat is probably the same if buying drivers solos and back seats as a 2-piece set, regardless of what model valk you have.  Some Mustangs do mount the drivers backrest in front of the passenger pillion (I'm pretty sure that is not for any valk though).  However with the Ultimate King  backrest on there, I have no idea what may fit behind it (other than a throw pillow, which would probably be unsatisfactory).

try driving your car by letting the back of the seat lay down and you sit  up and drive,, now raise the back of the seat back up and feel the difference...thats the same for me on a bike..

Any assist to the lumbar region as we age is a good thing.  Days past gave us "kidney belts" when bikers were subjected to hardtails and unpaved roads. Shocked    Ergometrics breed better seats, comfort, and less damage to the lumbar spine over the years.  Anyone still wear them on a long ride?

Not a traditional leather kidney (or weight lift) belt, but I have a nice lightweight motocross back brace that provides very good support, when I needed it.  And when I needed it, the backrest wasn't cutting it alone.  I have not needed it in a long time though.  Which is a good thing.

And it breathes:  Fox racing back support.  Mine is some 6-7 years old (like new), but not quite as wide as their current version.  I think they may be on sale from Fox.

I was a little worried the hard exterior might rub or tear my backrest vinyl, but it didn't.  Obviously, there's some get-off protection in this as well (not why I bought it).

I also have a soft rubbery velcro support (which rolls up when you wear it and is useless unless you just need heat in the lazy boy) and a suspender type brace you see the Home Depot guys wearing (for yard work), but the Fox brace was better for riding.

So I communicated with Des and he said a couple of interesting things. First is a Mustang passenger seat will not fit on a Tourer or Standard with an Ultimate King Seat with a King backrest. Second thing he said is yes a stock Honda passenger seat will fit but you have to mash the foam on the front of the seat under the King backrest bracket. He was right of course. It works. Thing is I don't care how it looks as long as I get the season out of it since I plan to purchase the Ultimate passenger seat when I can. I suppose if you wanted it to be like this permanently you could easily remove/shape the foam on the front of the OEM passenger seat to fit perfectly. Here's how it looks presently.

Harry, that doesn't look too bad. But your passenger will appreciate the Ultimate pillion seat.  cooldude

You talked me into it my friend. The Ultimate pillion seat is on order. What the heck ... you only go around once. Wink
