but this coming Monday I will be the new ACC Buildings Landscape Supervisor....I'll be supervising 4-4 man crews....Crewleader, Groundskeeper, and 2 State Inmates per crew.....I've busted my chops for almost 21 years as a landscape crewleader, and feel like I've earned my keep and then some....the old Landscape Manager retired back last July and my old boss got his position.....she picked me out of a very experienced field of external candidates.......got a pretty nice raise to go with it to boot.... cooldude

the best part is I only have to spend around 25% of my time in the office with the rest out checking up and training the crews......I'm still planning on doing my tractor business on the side.....

Good for you, Stanley. Congrats! Most of us know how much you've "paid your dues".  You're very deserving on this opportunity.

I just have one question. When we all join you in Billings, is the DQ gonna be on you for all 380 of us who attend?

Absolutely.......as much as I have "cut up" at some of our gatherings, I'm a 180 degrees different at work, not that I don't joke and tease the guys some, but I'm very serious about getting the job done...right... cooldude

I keep my personal stuff separate from work......no co-workers on my FB page, etc

Glad to hear it Stan.  cooldude

Keep up the good work.    Smiley

We had a groundskeeper inmate at the Fed country club prison-farm on Maxwell AFB AL go missing for a few days, and they started the usual manhunt.  After a few days they found him shacked up with a Major's wife over in family base quarters (he never even left the base).  The major was apparently off somewhere doing Air Force business, and the wife and inmate were just doing harmless but enthusiastic monkey business.  The wife and the Major were pretty embarrassed, but the inmate was happy as a clam, and a hero of the inmate population.  The word was, when they finally found him, he was so worn out they had to give him a ride back to the prison.

At that time, we (the base legal office) had a former state probate court judge inmate from Atlanta doing a few years for some kind of corruption.  We let him update our law library and help with our tax program.  (But we never told anyone about his tax help.  He knew more about taxes than the whole office put together, and we needed all the help we could get, but the Col thought we should keep it quiet for obvious reasons.)

Luke, what is your dirt doing in boss Hog's hole?

Steam on, Stanley! Is this the end of your alluring work poses? Congratulations on your upgrade, some of which was probably due to your aforementioned poses! cooldude

Congrats as well, am sure well deserved no doubt.

Not saying it will ever happen since sounds like not in the grindstone corporate world as much, but have seen it dozens of times when people become supervisors or higher,  they are in the HOT seat more often and more apt to get the axe if something goes wrong.  Not trying to be a downer or anything, but watch your pees and q's and do not let Cletus out of the bag..... 2funny   I think that is the downside of becoming a supervisor in most corporate work environments.

My wife got offered a few years ago a supervisory role and she turned it down even if say 15K more per year.  REASON:  she would have lost her job by now if she had it that is a given on what is going on now there that is for sure.  They then hire in an outside consultant to NEVER get the mess straightened out  being a complete idiot and stranger to the systems,  making over 2x's my wife's pay - DUMB!!!   uglystupid2  The credit manager left there as well the company hiring an already retired mgr. who just wants to get the quick big bucks for next 1-2 years and change it to HIS way as HE did it in his other company with NO discussion of the few who have been there for years under him.  Great mgmt. style - NOT!!    Seems like WAY, WAY too many chiefs doing ZIPPO getting paid 6 digit figures yearly and not enough Indians in today's world.   uglystupid2
