Past-Disco Sucked Present-Disco Sucks Future-Disco Shall Always Suck 1976, Big Daddy's-Marina Del Rey, California. Saturday night fever, no hope in sight, and the two o'clock desperation three story dance hall glances, dances, and romances. Stoked, coked, and joked again by the folly of youth. Oh how we learned the hard way!

Don't know much about dancin' That's why I got this song One of my legs is shorter than the other 'N' both my feet's too long 'Course now right along with 'em I got no natural rhythm But I go dancin' every night Hopin' one day I might get it right I'm a dancin'fool, I'm a Dancin' fool I hear that beat; I jump outa my seat But I can't compete, cause I'm a Dancin' fool, I'm a Dancin' fool
The disco folks all dressed up Like they's fit to kill I walk on in 'n' see 'em there Gonna give them all a thrill When they see me comin' They all steps aside They has a fit while I commit My social suicide,
I'm a Dancin' fool, I'm a Dancin' fool The beat goes on And I'm so wrong The beat goes on And I'm so wrong The beat goes on'n'I'm so wrong The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong I may be totally wrong, but I'm a Dancin'fool, I'm a Dancin' fool
Yowsa, yowsa, yowsa
I got it all together now With my very own disco clothes, hey! My shirt's half open, t'show you my chains 'N' the spoon for up my nose I am really somethin' That's what you'd prob'ly say So smoke your little smoke Drink your little drink While I dance the night away, I'm a Dancin'fool, I'm a Dancin'fool, efc., [etc.]
I may be totally wrong but I'm a I may be totally wrong but I'm a I may be totally wrong but I'm a FOOL-uh!
Hey, darlin'... can I buyya a drink? Lookin' for Mister Goodbar? Here he is... Wait a minute... I've got it... you're an Italian! Hah? Yer Jewish? Love your nails ... you must be a Libra... Your place or mine?

She's still out there, somewhere and tormenting some other young buck. Songs, books, and poems are still being written about her. Ain't it great?

Lets just say that I was glad when Travolta made Urban Cowboy, and the music craze switched from the dreaded Disco to Country..... and subsequently all those single gals started dressing up as cowgirls and frequenting the bars & clubs I was accustomed to hanging out in. Up 'til then, I was "Lookin' For Love in All The Wrong Places..."

Without a doubt. I liked the Bee Gees till they went disco. Remember when Steve Dahl had that fracas in the stadium in Chicago and burned disco records and it got out of hand and almost destroyed the stadium And Rap is not music in my book. Its Crap

Myself! Disco was a new adventure for me; I liked some of the trick beats of the music. I don’t know about your area, but around here, it seemed to be somewhat positive time, it was a self- health conscience time. People dressed nice, the ladies were hot, and you actually had to know how to dance, not like to toady. Now a days, people dance like washing machines, back and forth, repetitively. Allot of Ego though, you had to look and act your best. I liked the music, it seemed happier than now of days. Allot of good memories! But everything must evolve and we move on.

Without a doubt. I liked the Bee Gees till they went disco. Remember when Steve Dahl had that fracas in the stadium in Chicago and burned disco records and it got out of hand and almost destroyed the stadium And Rap is not music in my book. Its Crap Out of many memories from that era this may be my biggest. First off I was living in Detroit suburbs at that time in summer of 79. The Detroit Tigers were playing the White Sox in a double header that night. I worked nights and always had the Tigers game on the radio. I had heard of the promotion being a card carrying member of DREAD at that time. DREAD was Detroit Rockers Engaged in the Abolition of Disco, certainly a most worth cause at that time. Along with Steve Dahl the eccentric White Sox owner, Bill Veeck signed off on this. Just come to Comiskey Park with 98 cents and a Disco record to blow up in between games. They may have had the largest crowd to ever see a White Sox game in Comiskey. Then the hoodlums stormed the field for 40 minutes and tore it all to hell. In the end the White Sox had to forfeit the second game, Tigers won the double header, and that promotion to a great part ushered in the end the Disco era. Now if anyone can just come up with a similar promotion that will bring the Rap era to an end, I am all in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1CP1751wJA

Yeah Disco is a good dude of course being from Texas he got a head start
I was never afraid to get on the dance floor when I was young and stupid and lets face it, chicks love to dance especially the bodacious ones.
Wasnt sad to see disco run its course but rap, it aint music to me when all I hear is f this or niga that it pisses me off to be honest
I'll admit that I play a version of KC and the Sunshine Band on my android thru the earpieces when waiting on the tarmac during rollout and takeoff, it calms my nerves much in the way that The song remains the same, and Eminence Front at max volume mellows me out climbing mountains on the Valkyrie at WOT
Yeah I know I am different ride up the mounatin fast come back down slower

Yeah, actually they were ok. I'm just not sure I'm as open about it as Evan is. It is pretty hard to not sing along with their stuff when I hear it on the radio. But I don't think I'll put it on my playlist.

Never liked disco. Liked rock (still do). I was a good dancer, and the girls like to dance.
But when my sister got her hair cutting license, I let her give me a curly perm (which was pure disco).
There was a lot of laughing in the family, and at school.
I did not know a curly perm took weeks and weeks to go away.
Hell, at least I had hair back then, and with color other than white.

yah, am a big AC/DC fan along with the 80s hair band music of bonjovi and def leppard and several others. 80s rocknroll ruled the day for sure. Still rock to the stuff today pretty selective in my music lineup unfortunately. I still remember weekends as a very young 5-10 year old in the 70s watching SOULTRAIN with those young disco dudes and dudettes getting DOWNNNNNN. They surely had rythm and could dance groovvvyyyy!!! I found it amusing to watch but not horrible or anything, but I got a kick out of that TV dance show. Now that RAP CRAP and even some grunge rock totally sucks big time, nothing but yelling and screaming and cussing and swearing. I find that the worst of all music ever made. But opinions are like a__holes, every one has one... About as far rap is I get is RUN DMC and maybe a few Beastie Boys songs from the 80s and may be funky cold medina rap song of the 80s as well I think by tone loc?? What I find more interesting is the tried and true old school country music most of us grew up in the 70s and 80s being traditional songs is totally different than most of today's near rock n roll country music songs. It is almost like country music is rock n rollish in a lot of country songs nowadays. I do enjoy though listening at times to the old school traditional country songs of way back then though for a change of pace when times were less complicated and easier laid back lifestyle vs. todays GO, GO, GO all the time ways of living. Johnny paycheck, waylon jennings, johnny cash, hank williams jr. just to name a few and even my parents era of the 50s/60s enjoying patsy cline and conway twitty just to name a few. My moms favorite was patsy cline for sure.

OSS, my WHO freak brother, Sister DiscoAfter Keith, Kenny Jones. "Sister Disco" features complicated synthesizer tracks that are the result of hours Townshend spent programming an ARP 2600 synthesizer. "For this track I spent a lot of hours programming my analogue sequencers in my ARP 2500 studio synthesizer. It isn't quite KRAFTWERK, but in 1976 I don't think they were doing much better. This is a perfect example of the progression I was making towards theatrical music writing. I was trying to evoke absurd Baron Munchausen musical textures. Roger sounds so seriously intent about everything that the pomposity becomes real and threatening rather than pictorial." — Pete Townshend Pete Townshend has claimed that the song was written as a statement that The Who would never use disco elements in their music. "With 'Sister Disco', I felt the need to say that the group would never, ever, in any way do anything like the Bee Gees. We stand over here and what we stand with is all right. They might say we're boring old farts but we still feel more at home with the boring old farts than any of that crowd." — Pete ( where's my DREAD CARD ) Townshend, 1978 This is no social crisis this is you having fun Just another tricky day http://youtu.be/OhuLhcbY_08?t=132Steve Dahl was a popular DJ in Detroit in the 70s before moving on to the windy city. It was Tuesday .25 a pitcher beer night at the Why Knot at Dix & Champaign in Lincoln Park (think about it) and I was watching the ball game with buddies when they pulled that demolition stunt at Cominsky. Explosions. LPs thrown by those in the stands flying around, towards the field. The stand empied onto the field in support of Disco Demolition. Total mayhem. What a hoot. Sox forfeit.
