This is near the end, since Steve Gains and the Honketts
are there. Gains' fingers look like a giant spider on the
fretboard...

Now that's some good music...

I remember Disco and the duck "Baby". I couldn't dance worth a darn but with the booming base (usually a complete wall of speakers), the lights flashing with the beat in the floor, and then the strobe flashing from somewhere, all I had to do was stand flat footed and swat flies and I was cool! Usually left with a headache too.

Was the group the Village People considered Disco?

Somewhere at my parents house I remember playing that record while about 7-8 years old with my 4 year older brother in the late 70s jamming to those what I now think are sort of 'out there' songs.  Catchy tunes though I guess for a 7-8 year old?  in the navy, macho, macho man, and ymca ring a bell still.. Shocked

I guess besides old school country music, disco was one of the first genre of music I ever listened to.  Shoot me now!!!   Grin

Whilst the USA had disco the UK had Northern Soul. OK, they listened to disco as well.

BUT for hardcore music / dance aficionados we had

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD7D13FBD8A0E7572

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_soul

EDIT

IF you've got any of these original singles do some googling there could be a tire or 3 in your hand.
