why would anyone put a HD logo on the side cover when it is a Honda?

Such a disgrace...   Cheesy

Also,  this red/black combo is not an original color from mother Honda is it??

I would guess the bike color is stock and the aftermarket Champion Patriot saddlebags are painted somewhat like the Tourer.

Hard to zoom in for a clear view, but I think it's got something similar to these stickers on the side panels.  At least, I hope so.

Yeah the owners wife passed away and the member either sold the bike or just left the board

Think he might have been a minister too.  This remembering stuff is tough !!

Yah, could be Hardly davidson logo, but why would you want to piss off and probably get into a fight with 100s of HD owners?  I say keep quiet and let the bike do the talking for you.. Evil

I still remember as a young adult still living at home when my dad had a small trailer with the sticker on back, 'insured by smith and wesson' and for some really odd reason the old, grumpy landowner of where we use to hunt ripped the sticker off our trailer parked on his farm property did not like it for some really odd reason.   We were like what the F got a bug up his butt over a simple bumper sticker on our personal property no less?

Yes, Standard.  Did someone say it was a Tourer?

Just maybe he has a Harley logo(or a look alike) because he heard somewhere that peoples wanting a Harley sometimes pay upward of 40,000 dollars for them. Sounds like good marketing strategy if one wants to get "about" 20 grand for their Valkyrie----even if it is slightly deceptive.   2funny   Cheesy    Wink

Looking at the market conditions of most HDs these days dropping not so sure I would advertise it being a HD over a Honda?  I bet my neighbor on his 2003 ultra classic 30th anniversary edition asking 9K will be sitting on it for awhile if not willing to go down to say around 8K.  He asked me if anyone I know would want it to let him know, did not say anything back though.  I was thinking why would anyone want to downgrade from a Honda Valk to an ultra classic..... 2funny

Ted Abbott aka KCK

He was from Ohio (although I believe KCK was for Kansas City Kid)

As jim@98valkyrie.com notes, he called it a Honda Davidson

Yup, Ted Abbot lived on the south side of Columbus, OH, been to his house a few times. Look closely at the right front, you'll see some huge air horn trumpets. He was following me up to a Honda Homecoming once and hit those horns. Holy cow Ted, from now on you lead. Sounded like a tug boat was trying to pass me.  2funny  After his wife died, he sold that bike to Mike Terry as I recall, bought himself a large scooter...forget the brand. I believe he remarried but not sure, haven't seen or called him in some time. My wife has a sister in the Columbus area and when we used to go for a visit I'd check in with him. My wife can no longer travel so haven't been up there in at least six years.

that is one sweet looking HONDA Davidson.  If it was not for the engine sticking out all chromed out,  I would have surely thought it was an ultra classic.  That would be pretty neat to confuse all the HDs around us all for sure having them scratching their heads like what did HD come out with now being  a MUST HAVE..   Shocked

sorry y'all my bad thinking it was a tourer since all that red on those side bags threw me off for sure.  I sort of like the way it was done though on those side bags being different and more red than black.

KCK, Ted bought a Suzuki Bergman and rode that for awhile.  He then got into fishing and dropped off the Ohio board.

He was a good guy who once washed RJ's yellow V8 trike at the CBR just to surprise RJ.

I have fond memories of them both as well as others from the VRCC that have passed on.

As a matter of fact just the other day a Stevie Nicks song came on the radio and it made me think about Brian Nicely.
