The young girl was mature beyond her years. I am very happy for her stepping up to the plate. I hope all those that turned him away learned a life lesson. You do not help someone and look for a reward , you do it from the heart. If the kindness is returned , then say "THANK YOU".

She certainly was. The young man is also to be commended. This story made me think about my teenage years. For me it was very stressful asking a girl to a dance. Asking them out on a date was bad enough, but with the dances everybody knew who was and wasn't going with who. For this young man to ask 10 girls took a lot more gumption than I ever had. If I got shot down, I would be lucky if I mustered the courage to ask 1 more. I hope they both go far in life.

This young lady is a beautiful person. What great values she displayed here. I'm sure she was probably laughed at by the other teens, but did what was right anyway. Good for her, and I am so glad she was rewarded for her kindness. Some people can be very cruel to a person who happens to be different. My grandson who is 12 yrs old was born with a birth defect and you would not believe the stares and some of the comments people have made. However, he is loved dearly and knows it. A couple of times this old Grandpa had to say something regarding the rude remarks. He thinks his Grandpa is the greatest and the hugs I get are priceless!

What an awesome young lady. She is blessed with the parenting she has received to influence her decision. This story and the one saving the officer gives hope for humanity......

Daniel is the the person I would have got into fights over at school.
I hated the bullies with a vengeance.
Great story.

wow, awesome story. 10K for college and a new nissan car for her, is an awesome gesture of kindness as well as the young lady asking the boy to the dance more so, win win all around. awesome for the news crews, etc. to get a rolls royce as well at no cost. If I was a parent as his mom was, I would be crying as well totally floored by the awesome acts of kindness all around. I never cared for going to dances in high school (only went to one in 4 years was enough) and now that my one girl thru high school now into college, I really question if spending 300-400 bucks on a stupid dress was worth it for one nights use. Every single time she went to the dance being asked by a boy, she came back at night and said was the worst dance so boring, etc., thus why go thru all that expense if was boring and not worth it? The parents who go all out and rent a limo never understood that at all, guess is just me being frugal.. Same can be said on weddings as well spending 10K on up for 2-7 hour wedding/reception. Wife wanted 25 years ago just immediate family renting a formal mansion room with local judge as minister. Fine with me costing tops 1K total or so for our parents vs. what my older brothers girl just got done doing spending well over 20K for renting out the FANCY Monona Terrace Convention Center with well over 200 guests. WHY?? when that extra 20K can be used towards something LONG term like paying for college expenses debt still right after graduating college? My older brother thinks the same as me but guessing they paid for most of it since my brother is not made of money not having 20K to blow.

I have watched this several times and had my wife also watch. I still get teary eyed. I could not stand bullies in school and stood up to them when I could. I got thumped often. I was picked on and I would try to help those who got picked on. The boy was being bullied. What is different. We all have our quirks. Some are not so obvious. A later story , when I retaliated ,beat down four bullies and got expelled. Rage is good!
