Met up with Bill (Hook) this afternoon and we took a 100 or so mile scoot south into CT.
Roads were in nice condition, hardly any sand or salty water run-off from the last snowfall. We stopped at very old cemetery and walked around looking at the 300 + year old stones.  Amazing the history there. Even the first Governor of CT., John Winthrop (I think) who also was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.  Made a loop around reading stones & re-planting flags that had blown over before heading north for home before it got too cold!

thanks for the ride Bill, see ya when rehab is done!

Jonathan Trumbull, first Gov of CT. (after the Revolution).  His son-in law, William Williams, was the DOI signee.

But close, with the John Winthrop   Smiley Smiley

Awesome ride today, even if a touch chilly in the 40's.  The roads were good, weren't they. cooldude

Bikes like the cool wind.

Good Luck with your procedure.   Do that PT so you can get back on the Valk soon.

I don't know if this is a hyjack or not but old cemeteries are very interesting to me. I love walking them and reading head stones. Nothing but history there. I'm very respectful of those in their final resting place.

Hyjack? Who cares?

I know Craig is interested in old cemeteries, he told me so when we visited the one in  Lebanon , CT yesterday.

I also enjoy walking around them, checking out the stones.

Yeah, sorry for the name there Bill, I couldn't remember it so I googled 1st Gov of CT. I forgot he was 1st AFTER the Revolution.
This place had stones so old, they were just flat rocks, not carved stones and the words were weathered away. Too bad to lose all that history.
