I have the OEM wind deflectors on my interstate pods, forks and the fairing now.  I am thinking about changing over to the moto wings.  Can anyone tell me if they are worth the $300 that they will cost me or are the OEM ones just as good?

Do you have the Baker Air Deflectors on now ? I am not aware of any OEM. As far as the MotoWings, I don`t have them so I can`t really say. But I do know Rik the owner is a good guy and will do you right.  cooldude

Took me a while to find them .

Anything on the pods and forks would be aftermarket, unless you're asking about the OEM chrome fork protectors.

I have been seriously thinking of getting a pair in dark smoke color with flames from motowings.  Cost seems pricey for what you get but for those who have them say they are worth it.

My take (opinion from what others have said) is the motowings or baker airwings are adjustable to allow air to flow inward toward body or close them up to allow air to not hit your legs/middle section.  Also my take (guess/opinion) is the front fork deflectors only for the most part block airflow between I/S fairing and gas tank which I actually like the airflow coming at me in the chest/body and even in colder temps does not bother me since I have a warm windproof coat on and in hot summers enjoy the breeze between gas tank and fairing hitting me in the body.

I think the motowings/baker air wings would be best for colder temps blocking the wind from hitting your legs/body area more so than for allowing breeze in, but I do not have a pair so cannot say for sure.

If the price was closer to 200 vs. 300 I would be more inclined to buy a set myself, still thinking about it since unlike chrome,  they serve a useful purpose.  I hear just be careful tightening down NOT too tight the clamps onto the I/S side pods they may hairline crack them if too tight, have seen the hairline cracks on other I/S's, but some get no cracks and guessing a rubber grommet between clamp and pods would help from wind vibration at hwy. speeds and above to help prevent cracking the side pods.

Honda made a wind deflector that bolts to the IS Pods, I have a new in the pkg set at home, they were in the accessory catalog. I don't think they made fork deflectors, they are probably aftermarket.
I just switched from Fork deflectors and the fairing deflectors to a full set of bakers, I am not sure I like them yet, I get more air over the tank now with the bakers. This will be ok for warm weather riding.

I have those exact ones, dark smoke with flames and they are awesome. I have my pods off right now but when I get them back on ill send you a picture.

I didn't realise that and just checked out the sale brochure I have.  Seems they offered Baker like wings that mount to the radiator($199), windshield side screens that attach to the shield($199) and front wind deflectors that mount under the fairing($120).

Never seen any, but I never really looked at I/S's till this year, after I got one.  Smiley

Hook,
I'll see if I can post a pic of the deflectors later tonight, I believe several holes had to be drilled onto the face (part below the vent). This put them at the same angle of the pod face.

Motowings are made of acrylic plastic; much harder than Baker plastic. Also, they are thicker: 3/16" vs 18"

I've worked with Rik selling them at bike events.

Like most Honda accessories, those look very nice.   Thanks for the pic.

After seeing the pic, I do think I've seen those before. Didn't know they were a Honda item.

Genuine Honda Accessory Air Deflector.

The reason you haven't ever seen many of this Honda accessory (pod wings) bolted up on bikes is they would directly interfere with many folks legs up on highway pegs.

"Mick-o-Pegs".

Indeed.  I've never tried them, but the idea of using any peg that moves up and down under my feet NEVER appealed to me (and I never want my feet lower than than my controls).

And they are expensive ($330).... the often written worth every penny is overused, and often unconvincing.

Who spends for any expensive item he intends to keep, and them proclaims it is not worth the money???

I haven't used them either. But after following a rider 1400 miles to Spearfish who did have them. They looked pretty comfortable.  cooldude

Yes all 4 are Honda items.  One mounts to the side of the shield and flips in or out.  The other s mount to the pods, one mounts to the bottom side of the fairing and the last one goes on each side of the front forks near the top .  I have all of the original installation instructions that came with the items.  I am thinking of replacing the pod and fairing ones with the moto wings, but not sure if they are better than what I have now.  Is there anyone that has used both or know of anyone that has, so I can get a comparison.  I am also getting the clearview shield with the vent.  However, I am not sure if I will use the adjustable shields that mount to the side or go with a wider windshield.  Clearview will make me new shields for the side if I decide to go with the narrow shield.  Looking to get feedback from anybody that has done this to their bike.

Wished I had known how you felt about this at the last INZANE, I'd have asked you to ride mine with the Mick O Pegs.    I use the highway pegs very little.    I absolutely love my MOMs.
