I have seen them a few times, always great.  This was 1982.  Two years prior was the first time I had the pleasure of seeing them.   August of 1980, Toledo Speedway Jam.  1 mile oval track that was full about 2 miles from my house on Alexis Road.  Opening act was Killer Bees, they got booed  off stage after 3 songs.  Next up was Sammy Hagar.  I think this was before Standing Hampton but crowd loved the Red Rocker.  Next up in the 5 o clock hour was AC/DC in the original Back in Black tour with new member Brian Johnson.  They opened with Hells Bells and they owned the day.   Last up was the boys from Texas in I believe the Deguello tour and they brought the place down.

My gosh it is probably good that concerts are not like this anymore. However in my early 20s I do not remember many days that much fun.  Lots of bikers involved in fights. I stayed clear of those dudes.  You could bring in your own cooler of adult brews and stake out an area - sort of.    Olympia beer sold 10 gallon bubble kegs.  One can imagine what else at that time, it was all there.  Chicks were being passed around overhead, very popular at that time, some had next to no clothes and some had none.   I do not even remember much securtiy.

I have very vague memories of many similar concerts.

The biggest surprise is how good my hearing still is.

am with you there,  concerts are LOUD,  so loud it hurts your ear drums.  Saw only one true rock concert in the 80s being skid row and bon jovi.  One young lady beside me did not know around my age at the time early 20s tops wanted me to put her on my shoulders on a steep outdoor hillside in pouring rain and thunder.  I got one look at her slightly more than hefty frame and thought the risk was not worth the reward..  Grin

concerts back then were like 20-30 bucks tops, but now one is lucky to be had for 80 bucks per seat - too rich for my blood even though last year def leppard had a show close by I would have liked to see.

ZZ top and huey lewis and the news I also liked back in the 80s.
