Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

                                                          Empathy…

Man, days like this, as demoralizing as they are, do have a virtuous side… I’m siting here pinning to be aboard ALI heading towards some mom & pop café someplace to ease the discomfort of this raging case of ETS (Empty Tummy Syndrome) that now gripes me… Heck, I’d even settle for some cream of wheat and home fries right this minute…

The upside to this predicament, though, is that it does give me pause to reflect upon the plight of all my pals who can’t ride either. All I have to contend with is rain at the moment, and some heavy thunderstorms that are on their way towards me. Nope, winter, to the extent we even have one down here in dear ol’ Dixie, has run its course, and already we’re preparing to deal with heat.

I can’t imagine what it must be like to peer out a window and see snow drifting up against the side of the building, temperatures that would cause icicles to form even on the visions in my mind’s eye. I’ve been in snow before. I’ve been cursed cold, too! But, only once or twice have I endured it for days on end for an entire season… Enough that I do know the implications, but few enough to be mighty glad to be down here nearly all the time!

So, to all my friends and companion riders, especially the shut-ins of our biker community, I hear ya, and I feel your pain. Napper fixed us some killer roast beef yesterday, and now I think I’ll slap some of the left-overs between a couple of slices of bread and have a bodacious dinning extravaganza! I think there may even be a piece of coconut pie in the fridge, too!!! I have already visited with our girl this morning… She didn’t’ complain about taking a day off… Hope y’all’s day goes tolerably well anyhow…

Bruce, I too am suffering from PMS (Parked MIATA syndrome) since the Miata has UHP summer tires.
These tires stick like glue and are smooth running until the temp gets down to about 50 degrees or so.  Then the glue changes to grease and the smoothness changes to lumpy.

I'm also wanting to climb aboard Chris's Triumph Scrambler and see if "I still Got it".  I've been invited by both Chris and Mark to ride the Valks but I don't get along very well with the rocker shifters.

There, motorcycle related.

Warmer temps are coming.  Keep on keepin on. Try for i million miles on Ali, Bruce. Safe riding.

I spent part of Nov and Dec of 1993 in Williamson MA.  Shocked

That was enough to make me skedaddle south.

Wayne, I'd love to reach a million with ALI, and I think she will probably be up for that. Alas, I fear her rider may not, unfortunately... It took me 18 years to reach the half mil mark... I doubt I have another 18 years left... On the other hand, perhaps I could quicken the pace a bit... ummmm, I'm going to ponder on that some.

Paul, I hear ya, man! I spent a winter in Korea followed by the next winter in Maryland. The first was by far the coldest, but that second one was plenty cold enough for this mostly Florida boy! Yep, a skedaddle south was definitely on my mind, too!
