I am not sure anything on TV was funnier than those Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.  My sister and me took some relatives to see the Johnny Carson Show in Burbank.  It so happened Johnny was on vacation and Don stood in for him.  Always funny.  I miss all those old time comedians.

last of the rat pack, RIP... Cry

Only a few left in that era and probably the oldest, although not a comedian per say, is Betty White around 95 years young still.  Steve Martin is in his 70s and at times could be funny, but the rat pack era was the best of the bunch IMO.

Robin Williams was also pretty funny until he decided to end it himself.... Cry

He and Bob Newhart were the best of buddies; only those who knew him best off the stage are eulogizing him as a good man with a good heart.

Of the many messages that have been expressed by his peers and those he influenced was this one from Steve Lawrence:
"I can imagine his first conversation with God.  He might send him back."

And from Patton Oswalt:  "In lieu of flowers, Don Rickles' family has requested that people drop their pants and fire a rocket."

See ya later, ya hockey puck. angel
