oh well, it is just a game yah know right?   Roll Eyes

Not saying you are that attached, but I see way too many parents with their own kids sports games get out of control as well as adults rooting for their favorite sports team like their lives have ended.  I just laugh at them and tell them to get over it and move on with their lives is ONLY a game.   cooldude

I quit playing softball in my 20's for the team I on was a bunch of die hard jocks that were always bitching on anything to help them win, win, win at all costs.  Can't say I never bitched or talked back to an umpire though.  My last high school senior year baseball game after regular season sectional game I got ejected out of the game as the catcher when I tagged the runner out coming at me at home plate trying to run me over (knew the team were rivals) tossing him to the side with my body and glove with ball in the glove and yet NO call,  the runner got up after I flung him out of the baseline behind home plate, me waiting for the OUT call from homeplate ump,  and runner snuck in and touched home plate calling him SAFE.  I had a few choice words with the ump who threw me out of the game as well as 2 other senior players on our team for other horribly blind calls from the home team PAID OFF umps.  I guess asking the homeplate umpire if he needed me to buy him glasses for being blind is what he was me telling him that was not the PROPER thing to say to an obvious blind man?   Grin

LONG time ago at an away Football game the home team got a fifth down and went on to win and break OUR undefeated season.  Lips Sealed Not really Sure but your analogy of bought and paid for officiating may fit in that football game. As to my O P the fact that Hockey and Basketball run into June is somewhat puzzling. Just some idle rambling on this old guys part.  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Remember this? Can't seem to post link, but google Archie Campbell's Hockey Here Tonight. Was funny way back anyway.

Back when I was just a lad and the NHL consisted of only six teams, the Cup was over by the end of April (Chicago was the furthest out west).   Now, the number of teams (with the transcontinental travel) necessitate a lengthy regular season and a really long playoff season because many teams (and associated revenues) get into the run for the Cup.  The NBA is no different.
