reminds me of an old Eddie Murphy skit

"that's someone who wants to go to hell and doesn't want to wait in line"

"I want to take the hell express"

so glad I moved, mountains, bible, guns

They have those in Arkansas. And outside agitators can come to your state.

A worker was killed while building a wall at the water treatment plant where
I live and they finished the wall off like this in his memory:

Atheists from Wisconsin came and sued us. At least they didn't crash
car-bombs into it.

Turns out the young man is certified crazy.  I mean medically certified.  He's actually done the same thing before in another state.

Just what the hell is wrong with people??  If I were an atheist, and this statue offended me, I would ignore it, not destroy it.  It isn't mine, it doesn't belong to me, therefore I keep my hands off it.  If I didn't like guns, I wouldn't buy one, I would not try to take away your right to own or carry one legally.  If I didn't like a scum bag like obama or clinton, I wouldn't vote for them and if they were elected, I would complain about the things they did that I didn't agree with, but I would recognize them as the dully elected POTUS and let them try to do their job, I wouldn't have to like it.

What ever happened to tolerance, and the right to have a differing opinion with out looting and burning and destroying?

This isn't the same world we grew up in. The people are nuts.

The ten commandments do come from the Christian bible. (but many of them are included in other religions as well)

But aside from the ones about honoring God (and the sabbath), the rest are simply a list of fundamental rules for living a decent, honest life, and really undebatable.  Knock off the swearing, murder, adultery, theft, dishonesty, and coveting.  If you don't believe in God (or anything spiritual) fine.  But the rest of the commandments are just common sense, and mostly codified in the sectarian criminal law.... everywhere in the world.

It's BS to claim the G is establishing one Christian religion by memorializing the commandments in or near a public building (or on our currency, etc).  Commandments that a significant percentage of the population believe and honor.  If a majority of the local population endorse the commandments, then democracy should allow them to be memorialized.  Establishing one religion would entail passing laws saying that if you are not a Christian (or whatever), you are a criminal, and will be punished with imprisonment and/or fines, or other loss of rights (or beheaded).

Where does it say LGBT or atheist rights trump everyone else's rights to freedom of expression?  This is yet another case of the constitution's amendments being used as a sword against people, when their intent is to serve as a shield against G overreach of power.

The constitution says the G cannot establish one official religion, it does not say the G cannot honor any religion.

I would say that this attack and destruction of this monument is exactly an example and witness to the accuracy of the Bible and truth that we do indeed have an enemy and its not the guy in the car. Every attack, every time Jesus's name is stricken out of saying it, or that prayers are stopped is only verification of the truth of the bible. If there was no power in the Bible, Jesus or any of these things or they didn't mean anything then why would  people be so driven to stop and destroy it? We rejoice in the truth even though, unfortunately we as the believers know what the world would come to.

Jess good post and I would add that when this country establishing itself under a form of the current system of laws and established government you had to belong to a church to be in government. How far things have come 180 from the start. The enemy intent was always to be worshiped as god. So what does he do, establishes his people and laws over the ones that God's people have established. He is a Counterfeiter, liar, thief and has only come to kill, rob, destroy every work of God.

We were given a country and called to occupy it, I would say that we have not done as good a job as we should have. But we do have a few modern day examples of this idea of occupy and how to go about it. The Muslims have a great grasp of this and serve as one of the best examples. We have other political groups that made marks by doing this also.

As a Christian gentile, I know they're in my Bible, but the Ten Commandments were originally given to another people/religion approximately 1400 years before Christ's feet hit the ground.  Smiley

Seem to remember reading in The Bible that in the end times they want to take GOD out of everything. Also caught a blip that a man threw a rock at a Holocaust Memorial? Skinhead and Jess both have made Very Good points. Dad used to say and it fits today and I may have used this before-goin to hell in a hand basket. Could be-most likely might be-part of that trials and tribulations thingy. RIDE SAFE.

Yes indeed, and thank you for the correction (I knew that).

I tend to view Judaeo/Christian origins, values, and rules as mostly the same (or more similar than different).

You don't see Christians vilifying Jews when the ten commandments are put on public buildings or otherwise honored or memorialized.   As I see it, we're sort of in this together (or should be).   Smiley
