Had to give up riding almost four years ago and sold my Valk. Getting the bug now and getting bored. I seen two Goldwings for sale in the local craigslist. Both less than $3000. One early 90s black with low miles and the other late 90s with higher miles a cream or golden paint. If I wasn't trying to pay down bills I would look at them. I think after the accident with the Valk my wife would kill me if I came home with a wing.

Sounds like a rock and a hard place...
You're doing the right thing by trying to work down debt.
I could tell my Daddy had regrets about giving up motorcycles until he was too old to ride...

I would recommend to stay away from the 88' and 89' models. Only because their rear end is different and have the highest seats.
Also most every part will fit every bike, 90'-00'.
I would suggest talk to her first. Then go out and have he sit on the back of one if she was to go out riding with you.

Should have mentioned that my first bike after not riding for 25 years was an 89 wing. I put 65000 miles on it. I also had a 95 wing,98 shadow,05 Triumph then my 02 Valk. I just seen a 98 Shadow Aero for $3000. Darn,I had a new one and besides the Valk I liked that more than another bike.

I would up to a 2001-2005 Wing with fuel injection vs. an older 2000 on down Wing, just me. Price though maybe near double though for newer Wing vs. older Wing. I am glad I bought 9 or so years ago my 2001 Valk I/S for 8K with 14K miles on it vs. what I was planning on buying is an older 1997 range Wing for back then 7K range with 30-40K miles on it. Now, the Valk I/S fars holds it value (or so I think?) better than a slightly older 1500cc Wing, not that I am planning on selling anytime soon unless I see a very good deal on say a 2005-07 Wing for 8K with under 40K miles.
You may want to go back to a honda shadow though if the Wings are feeling too heavy to you and can find good used Shadows for well under 3K pushing that 2K range more so.
In March I just bought a low mileage 22K miles 1997 honda magna 748cc for 1900 and can probably sell it for 2K easy enough now.

Getting the bills paid down is a good thing. You could try to convince the wife that you could do that easier if you were getting 50mpg. This looks like it might be a cheap way to get back on two wheels: https://medford.craigslist.org/mcy/6209493413.htmlI'll bet that you could get it for $1500, ride it for 2 years and sell it for $1500.

It has only 1900 miles on it,hard to believe. That is a good buy.

But I don't think after owning a Valkyrie you would be very happy with that Suzuki. A friend owned one for a while, they are just ok.

If I needed to down size and still ride, I would go back and buy another Shadow ACE Tourer. Mags, shaft drive and IS hard saddle bags. Lite, nimble and plenty of power. Looks like a skinny baby Valkyrie.

It's long distance compared to some machines( Harley) It felt like a big bike,Long distance was a breese like the Valk. I'm going to just cool it for a while. If I can sell my car and RV then I might bite the bullet.
