I've thought about having a paddle type sign (think ping pong paddle) that says 'HANG UP THE GD PHONE'  and keep it in my tank bag.....

Almost got nailed twice last week.

I like to keep it simple. Something like this and have it scroll across my back window: HANG UP THE PHONE, FOOL!

Few years ago I made a paddle sign that said "SHUT UP AND DRIVE"
I'd blow the horn at the idiot and put the sign up to the appropriate window and watch as the fool read the sign, usually their lips moving as they read.
Ya can't fix stupid...

People who fiddle with their phones and other gadgets while operating a vehicle are three things:

1) self absorbed

2) selfish and thinking only of themselves

3) dangerous to other people

and guess what - you can't change people who have these traits - only they can change themselves.

how many of us use our phones while driving? I do, but mainly through my bluetooth built into my truck. I very seldom text while i drive or browse the internet or whatever else you do on your phone. (porn)  Evil But i am guilty of using my phone while driving. I bet 98% of us here are guilty. Just saying, hold your signs up to me, I'll gladly read it for your pleasure.  coolsmiley

I can state rarely when drivin my big rig and now-NOT at all And it is out of reach when I ride. I do have it whenever I leave the house. Far far too many folks THINK-wrongly-they can and should multi task while operating a vehicle. And it is NOT mostly around large metro plexes that this occurs. These days It's EVERYWHERE!  uglystupid2 Too many kids round these parts with new drivers license's THINK they KNOW bout drivin and adding texting to that mix have found out the HARD way that they do NOT know a cursed thing. RIDE SAFE.

I not only use my phone while driving, I've even been known to use it while riding my Valk... Like most things, it's not if you do something, it's how you do it. Operating the vehicle is always #1 priority, if the situation allows spare cycles to play with your phone (Eat a burger, fiddle with the radio, talking to a passenger, whatever the distraction is) fine, as long as you're willing to drop that distraction instantly when your #1 priority calls for it.

I use mine - and my GPS - to assist with navigating. And weather radar. Always while there's no possibility of in incident caused by distraction (no traffic nearby, or stopped).  Even so, I would be totally embarrassed if seen doing that.  I'm a stickler for no NEEDLESS or non - driving related use, like phone calls or texting.

If you must eat a burger while riding a Valkyrie make sure you have the proper hands free device, as demonstrated below.
