I in No way shape or form can even BEGIN to express my disdain for some-yer description here-people-in this context a term I use Very loosely. A young man-7 year old Nino Welcome who B T W is wheel chair bound and would have Never been able to drive it but Enjoyed riding in the gift his Gramps gave him-a Fully restored 1970 Mach 1 Mustang and from what I can gather appears to be done-was done up in a burnt orange fade to yellow paint job. Person/persons unknown at the news hour appeared to have broken out the passenger window on the Mach 1 and dropped lighted fire works into this Young Mans PRIZED Automobile.  Cry Picture I saw on the News showed a burned out hulk and just the seat springs where seats used to be. Nino's Father said at news time that they were looking into having Nino's car redone. My local Springfield station-KY3 aired the story I saw. Decorum and the monitors keep me from sayin zackly what I want to say BUT I KNOW y'all git my drift. I wouldn't have cared about the car per se BUT this 7 year old LOVES/LOVED that particular ride. AND his GRAMPS gave it to him. RIDE SAFE.

They set up a "GoFundMe" site

gofundme.com/ninosmach1

They're close to the goal they set, but I feel they'll need more.

I just KNOW I'm putting something-coin of the realm-in an envelope and gonna mail it to Nino. As an old timey gear head I feel I can not NOT do something. When I lived in Illinois with the first ex I had a 76 Olds Toranado. The hood ornament was cable/spring mounted. Came out one morning fixin to go to work and the hood ornament was turned 90 degrees so the thin side was to the wind!  Lips Sealed This happened a few times and I stayed up one night and I caught the little shitzki. My neighbors 15 year old boy who was an honor student and a Church goer. When I caught him I didn't even ask him why. BUT I did put the fear of a HURT in him and I told him-you tell your Father what happened cause tomorrow-sat-I'm telling him. Long story wrappin up his Dad thanked me and for the next month the kid cut my lawn. And raked and picked up limbs. Different time and at least in that neighborhood Parents still took an interest in their children. If I tried that today I'd be sued 7 ways from Sunday.  Undecided RIDE SAFE,

When caught , full restitution should be made. Let the rats (sorry, rats) work off the debt by 90% of their pay going to repay for their stupidity.  Any bleeding heart that says it is a cruel punishment are the parents of this kind of trash.  There is  N O  excuse for this kind of behavior. If it was my kid (s) , they would be working many jobs and the money would be going back to the car owner.
I am sure it was very funny. The only thing I could think that was funnier was if they sat in the car while it burned.  Yes , I have a sick payback. Wait , it's pay back. Do not get mad , do not get even, get one better.  The rat would be the first to scream if something happened to his (her , it's) property.

Old2soon, if my kids ever did that to anyone's car I would hope that whoever they did it to would whoop that a$$! Cause I know that when I got ahold of them that's exactly what I'm giving em. I gave my oldest boy my dream car, a 79 Trans am. Right before he got deployed to Afghanistan and it's been in the body shop for bout a year now getting restored. All my kids share the love for cars. And they respect them. We all have oil in our veins. Whenever I see this or hear bout stories bout this stuff it saddens me to know that the world is full of selfish people. I've raised my kids to help others in need and don't do it for anything but because it's the right thing to do. I have practiced this enuff in front of them that all of them do this to other people and just tell them to pay it forward. I'm hoping that they too raise their kids to do the same.

Which is evidence that what the so called low lifes did could have been a very good thing for the "victim".   I'm a bit cynical in my old age but I simply don't take anything in the media at face value.   Wink

Carl-I git the skeptical mind set I really duz. From the clip I saw on the news I'm thinkin this really happened. "panhandlers" at the trucks-99.99% of the time-wanted cash. I've offered more than once while I was still working to call any Church on the directory inside the T/S and was asked to place the phone call 2 or 3 times out of a couple hundred asks. YUPPERS-I getz skeptical. RIDE SAFE.
