Nice  post, great report... you've definitely made good use of your time by seeing many of the must see sights in that area. You're right on regarding those specific tourist traps... there's more than enough non-publisized places of equal or greater interest & beauty to visit in AB & BC other than those.
Safe travels....

Wow Oss, that really brought back some memories. Rita and I stayed in that big hotel shown in one of the pics from Banff. It was fun to watch golfers below the outdoor restaurant waiting to play through a bunch of Elk wandering around on the course. Beautiful and breathtaking scenery.  cooldude

Just remembered so I have to tell on my wife. She loves Lilacs, and at the head of the main street in Banff is/was a gov't. facility that allowed visitors to walk through and enjoy all the flower beds and various flowering bushes. While I was doing the tourist thing with my camera, Rita disappeared. Later after leaving, we were headed back to the hotel and I could still smell Lilacs so I commented how long their scent lingers on one's clothes. My new wife got a sheepish look then raised her blouse to expose a 2' long branch of Lilacs tucked in the top of her jeans, fully loaded with blossoms.  Grin

Bonnie got some great shots!

I'm really glad you guys had a good time here and really glad the smoke stayed away while you were here. You wouldn't believe how much smoke there has been since you left ...... your timing was perfect!

Sorry I was late meeting up but a short visit was better than none at all.

Please, make sure Bonnie doesn't forget to send me that video!!

Nice report Oss. Enjoyed it especially after being there last summer on the bike. We did go up to Lake Louise and found it just like you, Jammed, and no parking but plenty of spots for Motorcycles. We did not spend much time there and I found the Asian and Indian comments were the same for us. They were rude and only cared about themselves. If you had gone further north to Muncho, you would have found way less of that. I do not believe I have ever seen as many rental RV's and owned RV's as there was at Jasper. Not even Grand Canyon comes close in that dept.  Thanks for your report.

Lol....that's a nice story....Lilacs have always been one of my favorites. Around here, many years they get ruined by storms that come through for the 2 or 3 weeks they're in bloom. But they sure are beautiful when they're here...
