on PBS.  "Boys of 36"

Just got done watching it.

What a great story about underdogs and "rubes of the northwest" conquering the nation and then the world (especially Hitler and the Nazi's) in a wooden boat.

Definitely worth the 55 minutes.

Watched that last night. Their big wins were come from behind. Course the Brit that built the sculls Might have had a little something to do with the wins. Even though the germans made cursed Sure they had the BEST starting lane on the course the AMERICANS Still managed to kick ALL their azzes.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Is that about the fellow from England who hand made those crew boats and a couple of poor kids who were schooled out of Seattle area when not working like dogs to survive?

The book I read a few years ago was THE BOYS IN THE BOAT  True story.

Terrific reading !!  They were in that 36 Olympics
