Anywho, I was the junior dweeb in the basement in the 80's when congress (I guess Gore voted for this?)
funded the National Science Foundation's NSFnet, which became The Internet. At that time it was YAN
(Yet Another Network) among Bitnet, DECnet, UUCP and I forget... we were an NSFnet backbone site in
the regional NSFnet network known as SURAnet (Southern University Research Association), based in
Maryland (UMD). They put me in charge of the cast-off PeeCee that acted as the backbone router

Before it got its cobbled together ethernet card and its homegrown router OS, it was one of those
kinds of Pee Cees that ran DOS...
