Interesting story I thought others would like.

He was a high school dropout mechanic who was turned down for his dream job at Toyota, and eventually got by building makeshift mopeds at home. The name of his startup? the Honda Motor Company. If you've ever doubted yourself...read the incredible story of Soichiro Honda.

When I purchased my CB350 in 1971-72 the motorcycle dealership had one of the first Honda cars in the showroom. It was what I assume became the Civic though I don't recall if it was badged that at the time. There were no Honda automobile dealerships then. At least where I lived.  We got a good laugh out of the tiny thing. Later I owned a Civic CVCC. Wonderful reliability and great fun to drive, I handed it down to my son when he learned to drive.  He still speaks fondly of it. On another note, my wife was with our daughter in France and went into a museum that happened to have an industrial arts exhibit.  There in the middle of the room sat my (well not mine) yellow Honda Civic CVCC.

We here on this board KNOW of the near Legendary reliability of Honda machinery. Can you Even BEGIN to imagine starting Any company in the aftermath of WWII much less in the aftermath of WWII in Japan? And B T W-helping yourself and your Family to Merely Survive? While I did in fact race Yamaha when I motocrossed in Japan in the 60s there were Way more Hondas at the drop of the green than any other brand. From my old Honda 3 wheeler with that cursed NEAR Bullet proof 90CC one lunger to my current Phatt Ghurl I have NEVER regretted any of my Honda purchases. Heck of a story. RIDE SAFE.
