There was a road sign signifying a sharp 25mph bend and yet he kept on keeping it on.

And then target fixation.

Not braking.

The rider states in a news article he is never going to ride again.

A good decision for him.

Yup, plus he had the time to hit the dirt, before going off the cliff.

Um he lucky to still be suckin wind.  Lips Sealed And don't believe I'd ride with him while he wuz under the wheel in a cage. Boy seem like he get distracted way too easy. While my Phatt Ghurl a Lot smaller than my 18 wheelers takes Way more concentration and work to stay up on 2 wheels at speed and in curves etc etc. BUT I are preachin to the choir here. Hope he came out of it relatively unscathed. RIDE SAFE.

Yeah, the dummy passed that 25mph marker doing twice that. Ride like an idiot....you pay the price. Saw something similar some years ago here locally. Some kid passed us at night at an extremely high speed, told my wife he isn't going to make the turn up ahead....same type of scenario as the video. About 1/4 mile later I saw a lot of dust flying and a long tire mark leading up to the shoulder of the road, I stopped and checked out the scene. The drop off was only about 15', enough to do some serious damage to both rider and bike. The kid flew off the bike and landed in a pile of trash someone had dumped under cover of darkness. That saved his bacon, judging by the condition of the bike which hit a light pole. A few minutes later a squad car pulled up with his lights going, seems the kid was running from him. The kid was covered in garbage but nothing broken but his spirit. Lucky dude!

Approaching a tight turn (suggested 25mph) at 67mph isn't exactly smart.

Once he was in a crap situation, what he could have done differently? I guess:
- try to slow down and then lean (that would require fast reflexes and experience, the tendency of a bike while breaking in a turn is to straighten)
- keep leaning (worst case it would be a low side)

Braked, braked, braked. Scrub of as much speed as possible.

Can anyone identify if he's on a sports bike, dual sport, motard?

I also will make a rash statement.

He was wearing a helmet cam so possible he was trying to video what a bad ass rider he was.

I'm thinking Yamaha FJR. I think the camera angle was too low to be on the helmet. Maybe chest level. If it was, he apparently never left the bike.

Freeze video at 3 or 4 seconds and look at helmet shadow bottom left of screen. Camera bulge on helmet?

If FJR don't they have linked brakes?

At first that's what I thought. But if you watch a couple more seconds, the bulge goes away. I think it was the mirror. I'm not sure about the brakes. And I'm not even sure about it being a FJR. One of our SoCal guys had one, and I thought it looked similar .

The bike changes position relative to the sun. Changes the shadow.

@Britman: this is called the 'Gopro hero complex'.

People get a gopro and suddenly they think they are Valentino Rossi.
