Let's start by tearing down Arlington House, the nation’s memorial to Robert E. Lee. It honors him for specific reasons, including his role in promoting peace and reunion after the Civil War. In a larger sense it exists as a place of study and contemplation of the meaning of some of the most difficult aspects of American History: military service; sacrifice; citizenship; duty; loyalty; slavery and freedom.

Then, roll up your sleeves....we've got to tear it all down!

Monuments and sculptures
Robert E. Lee Monument (Marianna, Arkansas), listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)
Robert E. Lee Monument (New Orleans, Louisiana), NRHP-listed: statue of Gen. Lee was removed from its pedestal in May of 2017.
Robert Edward Lee Sculpture, Charlottesville, Virginia, NRHP-listed
Robert E. Lee Monument (Richmond, Virginia), NRHP-listed
Robert E. Lee, Virginia Memorial, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Robert E. Lee Monument, Dallas, Texas (In Lee Park)
Robert E. Lee, Lake View Cemetery, Seattle, Washington[1]
Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee Monument, Baltimore, Maryland: statue of General Lee and General Jackson was removed from its pedestal in August of 2017.

I live in NM where there are very few, if any, Civil War Monuments.  I haven't heard of any Neo-Nazi groups sacrificing virgins, goats, or anything else at the sites of these monuments back east so I really don't think that they act as a "call to racism"....but again, I don't live there so correct me if I'm wrong.

I just do not like where this could go.

Who decides which monuments should go?
WHY should they go?
Does their existence present a danger?
Is this just another "feel-good" gut reaction?
Why isn't Senator Robert Byrd on any kind of list?

I know that racism exists (on all sides) but honestly, I do not personally know ANYONE who acts like a racist.  I met one in the USMC and was really shocked!  I had never met one before.

As far as I'm concerned, Charlottesville is just another reason to jump all over Trump.

Where was the outrage when Obama took two days to react to the police killings in Dallas and when he did, he said, "we cannot allow the actions of a few, define all of us"....and then invited BLM to the White House!

What ever happened to the collusion with Russia....or the ozone layer ?

What's next?

Nope.  It'll still be Trump's fault for not naming each individual building, school, , county, etc.  He's such a racist!

Aaaaaaand, since probably all of the folks in all those places voted for Trump, they are all racists based on their vote.  So when these people oppose the renaming, it'll be OK for masked, armed, helmeted "liberals" to beat them down.

--------------------------------------------

Did you notice that the left did it again............

If you disagreed with Obama, it was due to racism.  Now, if you voted for Trump, you are once again, a racist.

How about Washington what about Lincoln, Mount Rushmore, might as well take King and the Statue of Liberty along with it, somebody must have a gripe about it. Let's not forget the Clinton Library.

You are indeed lucky if you've only met 1 racist. I've known many. I even was raised in the environment. Believe me, it still exists. May not be quite as blatant as it once was. But it's still here.

I'd start with the White House, after all it was built by slaves as someone once said  who just happened to live there. Then maybe the Washington Monument. Interesting to see it fall. This country is f--ked up.

their goal is to tear down the founders and thereby tear down the constitution.
The constitution stands in the way of the UN globalist dictators to reconstruct the worlds countries the way they want it. A progressive society run by despots.

I live in SD and I am offended by them building the crazy horse monument so let's just tear that down  then let's tear down my Rushmore. Then re name all the creeks and lakes that may offend someone cause lord knows we don't want to hurt people's feelings. The new America sucks ass! I want my old America back where we fought for what we have and the minute someone tried to take it away from us we kicked their ass. Too many cry baby poopy pants these days, you don't like something too bad suck it up buttercup move on go back to your house and enjoy YOUR things don't take away from others just cause YOU don't like something.

Hey!! If you're gon'a do it, do it right!!  I (and likely many others too)  am "offended" by certain statues and monuments and streets named after Martin Luther King.  So, I guess they should all come down as well there should be some re-naming of a lot of streets!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if we play our cards right, while the loonie are whipped up into a blood frenzy, we can get 'em to destroy a REAL monument to slavery?

I read that there's a movement to take down the statues of Bill Clinton that are in a couple of states.  Many are evidently offended by having statues which glorify a known sex offender.

I am pretty sure he was kidding. But what I read MLK was against same sex marriage. So if that is true why are you liberals not in a uproar over this. I mean you guys destroyed a Christian bakery because they wouldn't make a cake for a gay couple. What about Robert Byrd. He was a Democrat Senator that was a KKK leader. So where is your DEMANDS to take down his monuments. Huh. You all are a bunch of  hypocrits. You want to destroy monuments to men you say are rasist from over 100 years ago but let monuments to a rasist in your own party stand. Do you see the hypocrisy with this?

Everyone is so concerned about being PC that they are PW'd.

Inadvertantly or not this is an attempt to erase history.

I'm willing to bet that kids brought up in the local school system now have absolutely no idea that those original Six flags were the flags of countries that had governed Texas.
