Thanks Thunderbolt i do to right now just looking for some one there that could change it for him. Big Bf is too far away at this time and he dose not have one there with him either. DDT has made it to Mackinaw City, Michigan. He is Working his way to Gaylord Michigan to the Honda dealer With a little luck he will make it there He is having a cup of joe and charging his power pack before he takes off again. I will keep everyone posted

Ok guys thanks to everyone who offered to help DDT is at the motel not far from the shop that will fix his bike tomorrow when the alternator gets there

ah...it would have only cost him $2500 and 3 weeks waiting in Alaska.  Glad it's working out. Just another chapter in the adventure. |

Did Bruce end up in Houghton Lake at Hackers? That's in the Lower Peninsula, almost 200 miles from where he broke down. Must have been quite the adventure Doing that many miles and the Mighty Mac with no charging system!  |

I think all will be well in about 24 hours! I called the dealer in Gaylord, MI, but he said he wouldn't be able to work me in for work for at least fourteen days! I gave him my sob-story (I thought I did a good job with that too), but he wouldn't budge. I then commented that I'd just have to keep looking, because I didn't want to sit in a motel for two weeks...
He suggested Indian River Power Sports, about half way from Mackinaw City and Gaylord! Only thirty more miles or a bit less from where I was, and only about half what I thought I'd have to cover!!! I called them, and even though they are a Yamaha dealer, they said they would do the work, but parts might be a problem. Well, ol' Troutdude sent one to them via UPS overnight express!
The alternator is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and they are expecting ALI and me to drop in... and they would get 'er done! I did manage to limp on down to Indian River and to a motel... Had to push ALI to a parking space after checking in, though... Yep, an adventure for sure! Of all the places we've been in the last month or two, to have this now and here is way more than mere good fortune!!! It is a full-on blessing!!!!!!!!
I'm writing a little story about all of this with more detail... no pics, however... Under the circumstances, taking photos never entered my mind! I will let y'all know how all this works out! Thanks to all who've called, sent a text and/or otherwise offered to help!!! Have I ever mentioned how special this club is, or how much I appreciate being part of this organization? Well, it is, and I am...
BTW, BigBF is in Michigan but a couple of hundred miles away. He offered to help too, but I'd have to limp all the way down there (just outside Detroit). Dennis was able to save the day again, though... He's so helpful, thoughtful, and resourceful!!! And no, no thoughts at all of selling our girl this time...
