See what happens when you name a hurricane after a man? He won't ask directions, wanders around lost, leaves a mess and doesn't clean up after himself!

yes..I had the detective in my office today who was going to arrest the young black man who under full video survellience rushed an innocent man gassing his car and then shooting and killing him because "he saw my face"..this was in all the Dallas papers....I am unsure what your problem is.. maybe you can open up here and tell us?....

my kids are in lake jackson tx. as well as my grandkids..all of the water in houston and surrounding counties flows straight through lake jackson and freeport.. when that water hits things are going to get interesting to say the least.when the brazos and san bernard rivers over flow and merge water will get at least 6 feet deep..if the brazos hits 59 feet and 53 is flood stage well you do the math.. yes we are all worried sick as they have no way out,, all streets are flooded or washed away,,but at least my daughters husband Garry has a good boat they can float in,,its a 35 foot fishing boat,,i told John to gran his tent and hammer and nails and head to his roof...

I just heard there's a mandatory evacuation around that dam. Be safe brother! Also just heard Friendswood has received 48" from this storm. Also now an evacuationin Brazoria County from a levee breach.

My Mom, Stepdad, and youngest brother live in Aransas Pass in an RV park. Luckily my mom is in Alaska visiting my other brother and sister. I had been texting my youngest brother back and forth up to landfall of the hurricane. They had made up their minds to ride it out. Thankfully at the last minute they decided to get out and go to my cousins place in Cuero. My brother was able to go back yesterday and check on things. His motorhome is totaled, but my Mom's made it thru relatively well. All you folks down there be safe. Material things can be replaced. Loved ones can't.

Very interesting. I like being able to compare the before and after. It gives you a better perspective.

The one thing the "news media" seems or appears to agree on is that Emergency Services Are stretched too or beyond the limit(s). I Know it are 20/20 hindsight and too late to change it but WHY didn't the guv of Texas issue an evacuation order PRIOR to this storm landing a 1 2 3 4 and still punching punch? Looked at Nexrad and Harvey STILL be punchin. And now Louisiana getting hammered. PRAYERS ongoing for ALL the folks in or under that storms path. Some one else made this point but in my own way I Will reinforce it-if in a severe danger/flood zone-git the hell out NOW. RIDE SAFE.

WHY didn't the guv of Texas issue an evacuation order PRIOR to this storm landing
The greater Houston area has a population of 6 million to 7 million souls. (For comparison, the population of the entire state of Missouri is right at 6 million.) There's no way to get that many people evacuated, and even if they did, there'd be no where to put that many people, house them, feed them, etc. Also, the greatest danger in a flood is to be out in a car when it hits. If they were trying to evacuate and the roads were gridlocked (As they would be) when these floods came the death toll would have been unimaginable. They tried to evacuate Houston for Hurricane Rita in 2005. There were 107 deaths just due to the evacuation itself. The roads looked like this for hundreds of miles in all possible directions:

We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to eliminate hurricanes once and for all!
All we have to do is name any future storms after Confederate generals... Problem solved!
