It's that time of year again.  We will be accepting pictures that may be used in the 2018 VRCC calendar.

Pictures need to be attached to an email.  The picture should be as high resolution as you have a digital size large enough to not be blurry at full page presentation.  I prefer a picture of a Valkyrie with no people and a pleasant background.  No luggage is a good idea also.  Please do not send a photo that has been used in the past or is common to the board such as in your avatar or signature.

Pictures may be sent to Willow.VRCC@gmail.com or to the VRCC staff email at vrccstaff@gmail.com.  The subject should include the term Calendar Picture for VRCC.  Sending the photo implies permission for the VRCC to use the photo but it would be good to include that permission in the email.  Please don't send multiple pictures of the same bike.  We will hold submissions open for the next couple of weeks until we have at least fifty or sixty from which to choose.

I'll be waiting to see your pictures.

Should pictures that have been sent in past years, but not used, be considered not wanted?

If they were not selected they should be good for another try.  Pick your best one shot and send it.  The reason it's not a good idea to send multiples of the same bike is that the method we use is to have a number of people vote on the best twelve.  If you have multiples of the same bike you will likely split your votes and have a lesser chance of being selected.

We're still accepting photos for a few more days due to the inconveniences of our members in a couple of gulf states.

Please get them in quickly.

Well nuts, another year has passed and I haven't been able to get out to take some good stills of the old girl....the bike, not my wife.  Grin Probably no more than 1500 miles put on the bike so far this year. Not complaining at all, you know....first things first.  cooldude

There's a park in a town north of here that has some huge old Water Oak trees, some with a canopy over 100' wide. I've always wanted to roll in there and take a few shots under those trees, the background would be an old sugar mill now used as a small restaurant. The restaurant is rather unique, only sells pancakes and their trimmings. You sit at a large table with a hot plate built in the top of it, they bring over the batter and fixins' and you make your own pancakes. The kids always thought it was kinda neat, but mom was still left with the cooking.

Sounds like it will make a good shot, John.

Unfortunately, now you have me hankering for pancakes.   Sad

When I was in Japan they'd bring the fixin's to the table and you-well my girlfriend-cooked it up. Thinkin now I'd have a hard time kneeling throughout an entire meal. RIDE SAFE. P S Pancakes sound REAL good.

Well my friend, as they say in sports and other venues....."there's always next year".....or something similar.  cooldude  As for pancakes, I did take care of that. Had a fasting blood test today prior to my annual cardiac check up. The appt. was late in the morning so by the time I was done I was ready to eat the ass out of a bull whip while it was still on the bull. Went across the street to First Watch, ordered up three scrambled, crispy bacon, coffee and a short stack of blueberry pancakes. With nothing to eat since supper last night, I was coming up on 18 hrs. without sustenance. Sitting in the waiting room my stomach sounded like a bowling alley, got the little girl next to me giggling. Needless to say, I cleaned the plates.

I have a couple other spots nearby that might make a good scene. But, if I can't get out....wait until next year.  Cool

Those fasting blood tests Are a king sized royal pain in the lower cheeks!  2funny My favorite waitress at this one restaurant Always looks at my arm whenever I show up. She told me something I already knew. I order larger after those fasting tests.  Roll Eyes Large order-3-biscuits and gravy and 3 eggs over easy and raw Bermuda onions. And usually 4 big cups of coffee. RIDE SAFE.

Would my plywood trunk mount and safety-wired saddlebags hurt my chances?

PS: It's cabinet grade plywood and aircraft quality wire, if that helps....

LOL!  I collect the pictures and leave it to the voting team of a half dozen to select which ones will be used.  Send in the shot you think you'd like to see on a calendar.   Wink
