When I drove ambulance in Texas I believe it were the same deal. Patients sposed to be conscious to either give or deny permission for blood draw. Might be universal here in the U S of A?? Maybe some of our first responders could check in with their states protocol? The cop in the video I saw got belligerent real FAST with that nurse. Thinkin the cop did NOT understand or care at that point bout Legal protocol. If I wuz an ambulance chasin barrister in Utah I'd see bout that Nurse asking for a really HUGE settlement. RIDE SAFE.

In order to get blood you either need consent from a suspect / victim or a search warrant. She did right, the detective was an ass and out of line.

It is... The 4th Amendment of the Constitution:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The dumbest thing that a cop can do is piss off the Doctors, Nurses or EMS workers that may be taking care of him one day.  uglystupid2

Yep.  Don't piss off the people handling your food either.  Or your money.

As a kid, I worked at a Jack in the Box. Weekend nights would bring every drunk jerk within 20 miles. On more than one occasion, after dealing with said jerks over the intercom, I asked them if they realized I'd be making their food. The responses were always...interesting... 2funny

Bad idea to piss off the I.T. guy as well...

Come to think of it, it's generally a good idea to try to piss off as few people as possible.

I guess it's safe to piss off the butcher, that's okay... Wink

Yeah try this one next time you are pulled over.

So dude, how many cops does it take to screw in a light bulb?
