Ok, bought s Altimax Rt43 this time around and  so far I'm told it doesn't have a heavy index spot on the tire for mounting so rather than hoping I wouldn't have to add weight I'd go with the Dyna beads but how would the behavioral be with the beads if I got a nail and have to plug the tire ?

Shouldn't really effect it as only a small amount of the beads may stick to the plug but otherwise a non issue

Precisely what I thought, turns out every bead in my Taxi Tire was stuck to the plug.
To be honest, I didn't notice a difference in the balance of the tire but, that's precisely what I found when I changed the tire.

For me a plug is just for an emergency situation, to get rolling again. When I get home, it's time to remove the tire and patch it.

I'm not afraid to use plugs, never ad a problem in my life an I run tires down. As testimony I see a worn down bike tire that was changed (mine)and that little nose cone shaped plug had a perfect mushroom head on the inside of the tire.

On my last tire change, I had that same mushroomed plug, the difference was, mine was covered with balance beads.   I changed the tire because I had a very slow leak and couldn't determine where the leak was at, I assumed it was the plugged nail hole.   It wasn't.   Valve stem.   Angry

Regardless, that's my experience.   Now, I have an extra taxi tire that will eventually go back on my Valkyrie.

We use soft ammo..  2oz in front 3oz in rear CT. Works just like the beads and will not get stuck in stem... We've used them for years.  You can buy them at Wally World or most all sporting goods store.

I ran 'em front & rear for two sets of tires, both times had shake jus' above 100mph (felt like it was front). Now I jus' static balance front & throw 3 oz of these in rear, no mo shake¯\_(ツ)_/¯
