When Tyreek Hill-K C Chiefs-had that reception for 75 yards and a T D he flashed the peace sign at a defender. Mayhaps taunting with mayhaps a healthy fine. BUT I believe the nfl has Yet to address this sitting/kneeling while our National Anthem is being played. Flashing a Peace sign is worse than sitting/kneeling for The National Anthem?   uglystupid2 Me thinks the inmates Are Indeed and Fact runnin the asylum. And I M H O-the truly sad part? While their-nfl-decision angers me it do NOT surprise me.  Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.

My thinkin on this-lotsa time to think on the throne where all Men and Woman ARE equal!  Roll Eyes Tyreek Hill Maybe taunted an entire n f l team and bout 3/4 of the stadium and say 33% of the t v audience. Viewed the replay and to me anywho it was something done in the spur of the moment and from maybe happiness. You score a T D on an away game and-again to me anywho-that be a reason to be happy/celebrate and such like. And-again I M H O-the dufus's that disrespect The National Anthem piss off-what?-60% or more of the populous and that do not draw a fine or a suspension?  uglystupid2 I mean W T F chuck? Far as supporting the nfl got rid of my satellite some years back. I'm strictly on antenna now and quite happy with the results, I getz abc cbs nbc 3 public channels the cw and some others I cain't name offin the top of my gourd. And I did NOT watch the entire game-Chiefs at Pats-I wuz flippin back and forth when commercials came on the program I wuz watchin. Gonna flip back and forth this Sunday when the Giants take care of business in dallas.  2funny This disrespecting the Flag bull crap keeps on whatever night or day and whatever teams will see me No LONGER watching at all. And been quite a number of years since I've purchased ANYTHING nfl related. RIDE SAFE.

Back to the question in the original post.

The NFL is an entertainment organization.  They sell entertainment.  Oftimes controversy results in more people buying entertainment.  It's not their business to please you in your values.  It's their business to sell entertainment.

I'm guessing that they've lost some viewers over this sitting out the anthem.  I'm guessing they've gained a few from the associated publicity.  They're still doing business and my guess is that most of the people expressing disgust are still watching.

We attend our local minor league baseball games (Pioneer League, Single A, Instructional league).
Baseball is still the national pastime and has it all over football (opinion).

Now that CTE has been shown to begin with early impact head butting (all I can think of is two young bulls/steers in a pasture), you can see why football players die at such a young age.
Anyone who has a son that plays that absurd game should give serious thought in persuading him to move onto another sport that reduces that chance of him developing a brain disease that has validation in pathological findings.

Ted Williams once said that the most difficult thing to do in sports is to hit a major league fastball.
I still agree with him some 50 years later.

All this siting and kneeling for the flag bullshit, started by a black multi-millionaire, who played a game for an organization that is made up of almost 70% black millionaires, to protest how the blacks are so oppressed. I don't get it. I think we need Affirmative action in pro sports. I won't watch football, I won't buy anything NFL related.
Football is entertainment, these assholes are there to entertain the people. I don't give a rats ass about their little "protest". I don't care what they do in their own time, but when they are playing their game they are employed by the NFL to entertain. The NFL should stop it, they should tell them when they are on the clock they respect the flag and the anthem, or there are thousands out there willing to take their place.

They do represent everything because they are professional athletes.  People listen and follow these turds. So you can say they don't represent any of that bit in reality they do.

Fer a guy-me-that USED to watch football I've managed it much like I did my A1C warning from my Doctor. Got rid of the stuff I knew I could Not take in moderation. ALL my sugary snacks are GONE. I've weaned myself off of NASCAR-ask folks who knew me then. I stayed on nbc long enough to check the atl/gb game score. Go atl!  2funny Looked on my puter last night for most of the scores. Being generous maybe 10 minutes spent perusing the nfl. It used to be most of Sunday afternoon and evening and however long it took on Monday night. I have two big tests coming but I should be able to handle it by then-those Thanksgiving day games and superbowl. And findin out withdrawal NOT near as bad as I thought it'd be. And as I've stated before-been on an antenna now for 5 or 6 years. Do NOT miss the satellite or the bills that went with it. Nice to know some of the folks I AIN'T supporting!  cooldude Corrding to the lame stream media some nfl venues are having problems filling seats! Isn't nascar experiencing similar problems? Here's an idea nfl-raise yer prices again and see how many more folks you can run off. RIDE SAFE.

People are still watching, exactly.  And they will still watch.  I can't think of a thing that could happen, politically, within the league that will stop people from watching.  I bet there are even people who didn't watch before, watching now to see what will happen when they play the anthem.  Remember Howard Stern Private Parts.........  The average Stern fan listens for 34 minutes a day, the average Stern hater listens for 48 minutes per day.  Both gave the same answer as to why they listen..... They want to hear what he's gonna say next".

Also, there are only 16 season games played making each one very important (compared to Baseball with over 150 and basketball with over 80 games to watch).

And in MHO, yes they are ALL hypocrites.  Just like Hollywood.  Progressive against all racists instead of their own little midget Mel Gibson.  Spews his hate for blacks and Jews and then they give him awards while supporting BLM.

They pick and choose what to be offended about.

I'm done with the NFL also.

I have always been a football fan, maybe even considered a fanatic. I played football for a long time, including college ball at NIU in the early 70's. I helped start the local youth football league in our town, and coached for 6 years, and serving on the board of director's.

I could tolerate the exorbitant salaries, barley tolerate the mid field antics for doing nothing more than what they get paid their millions for, BUT, when they started to disrespect our flag, I drew the line.

The NFL should have stepped in and demanded that they take their political gripes and antics off the field, on their own time. When they decided to allow that crap, they lost me for good. Lets face it, they need the viewers more than the viewers need them. If more people would stop, they just may get the hint, but I doubt it.

I could care less who wins or looses in the NFL any more. I will spend my time watching college and HS football. Last night instead of watching the Packers, I watched two local undefeated high school teams compete, and enjoyed it.

Feel the same way Jim (and played in Jr Hi and Hi).  I still love football, but HS and college is all I watch (with rare exceptions).

Another observation I have is this (not counting the anthem sitters and money/greed issues):  Back before cable and such, there might be one or two pro games televised on Sun (and later a Monday game), depending on your region.  So you watched what you could, even though it was not YOUR team.  Now with 1000 channels and many games on the tube, and replays all week, it's simply overkill and market saturation.  Why be anxious to see any game, when you could be watching NFL all week, every week?  Ho hum.

I haven't watched much pro ball for years (even before the sitters and greed was so bad).  Pro ball is governed (like all pro team sports) by who has the most money and talent.  College is getting that way, but still, anyone can win on any given Saturday.  I like that.  And they still do double reverses, and halfback passes, and onside kicks, and go on 4th down, and I like that too.

Careful, that kind of thinking and you'll be voting Republican in no time!

(I say that jokingly, but I'll give BLM credit for that at least, they've managed to switch my hard left, former leader of the Dallas County Young Democrats, wanted to get a law degree so she could fight for gay rights wife into a Trump supporter...)

If you have purchased any of the specialized channels offering the NFL they they do not care whether or not you watch. They already have their money from you the viewer.

Now if you hit them in the pocket by going after and not supporting their advertisers that is an entirely different story!

And this man explains it perfectly! 2funny

I somewhat agree as well.  2 kids in my kids junior high school class age 16 both of them are having some serious concussion issues playing football in high school and are right now not able to play having serious headaches and throwing up/not eating well the past few weeks.  Not saying concussions happen often, but something to think about for LONG term issues.  Sure hope not.   I for one, missed playing high school football since that was about the only thing I miss from being in high school.  To each their own having to make up their own minds on whether to play or not.  Risk vs. reward much like cycle riding?   Undecided
