"When You're Dead, Your Bank Account Goes to Zero"

Livin' Better Side of The Great Divide

« on: September 10, 2017, 09:00:38 PM »

Passed on at the age of 78 a couple days ago.
A consummate balladeer with that smooth baritone voice.
Wrote some remarkable songs over his 50 year career.  Country music hall of fame, best male vocalist awards and 17 number one hits.  Forty two of his forty six singles landed in the top 10.
He was embraced by Clapton and Townshend in the rock world, also the modern era country traditionalists such as Emmylou Harris and Vince Gill.
More often than not, his performance consisted of him, his guitar, and a stool that he sat on.
