Rumors are flying around the new Wing.  Hearing of a 2000cc 6 cylinder with a completely redesigned front suspension, or a 4 cylinder engine "enhanced" with electric motors.  Sure hoping for the former.

does not really matter to me since not spending 20K+ on any cycle ever.

maybe in 20+ years the price will be in the 7-9K affordable range again though??  coolsmiley

some best guesses based on the first  teaser video are, DCT 7 speed trans, same engine but more electronic modes, new front suspension, engine becomes part of the frame to same a lot of weight. an optional 4 cylinder engine, (existing engine minus front two cylinders) making room for a hybrid electric motor setup.
3 more teaser videos are to be released.

Honda has disappointed me for so many years that I couldn't care less. A million dollar Goldwing I won't buy. Or a couple new dirt bikes. Or a new scooter. Or a new color scheme for one of the other bikes. Or as mention some where, another bike to walk by on the way to the parts counter.

Honda has impressed me for years, everything they build is high quality, from generators to aircraft.

agree, but for some reason some of the things they come up with do not interest me like the honda fury and ctx1300.  I suspect it will follow the and ctx1300 and ctx700 (if that is what the cycle was in the video riding 2-up) and be similar to that but 6 cylinders.  MORE sporty would be nice, but whatever it is will still have all that plastic upfront am sure of it.  Hey, how about a power up/down windshield that has been missing from the Wing since 2001 and should have been there over a decade ago.   I think it will follow the lines more so of the BMW1600 touring bike.

Agree. Power windshield is way overdue.

I don't mind a little plastic. A proper fairing is nice for touring. But you got one of the best engines in the business, show that baby off a bit. I don't care for fake plastic chrome or just chrome for the sake of chrome, but don't cover up that engine.  And not just for looks...some of us still like to do our own maintenance and don't want to have to remove 100 screws, push clips, electronics and plastics just to change an air filter.

Give me a good smooth powerful Honda engine that you can see and access, cruise, a comfortable 2 up ride, power windshield and make all the other traction control and gadgets I don't want as optional, all for $20K or so, I'll write you a check. Basically...just make  a fuel injected Interstate, I guess.

While I agree that in the recent years Honda didn't innovate much in motorcycles, I think you guys should look for the new bikes that are arriving in the market.

One good example is the Africa Twin, it was elected bike of the year by quite a few publications and it seems to be selling really well, as it fits nicely between a real enduro bike (unlike a vstrom or a versys) that has enough power for long trips (900cc) without weighting a ton (yamaha tenere) or breaking the bank (BMW R1200GS).

So much to the point that KTM/Ducati and other manufacturers are working in new models to compete against it.

Another good seller is the tiny Honda Grom, that prompted Kawasaki to release a competing bike (z125). I'm pretty much sure that KTM is working in something similar.

The new VFR1200X is also a sweet bike, I can imagine myself buying one in the future: http://www.cycleworld.com/2016-honda-vfr1200x-adventure-motorcycle-review-first-ride

Now if you are looking for big cruisers, I'm sorry, but this is a dying market (look at the decreasing sales of HD).

Besides, the best cruiser of all time was released in 1997: The Honda Valkyrie.

All that being said, there is just one thing that I really hate in the new bikes: digital/LCD screens for all gauges.

I wanna see if in 20 years those LCD screens will still be working.

I'm a die hard supporter for Analog gauges (even if it is an electronic sensor with magnetic drive).

Totally agree.  I do not like digital gauges.  I hated digital watches 20 years ago.

Per usual, my first car with an all digi dash (88'), the dash went out, and I lost everything.  New was prohibitive (unacceptable price), and the new used one bumped me from 45K (mileage) to 103K when plugged in.  That also sucked.  Then the trans toasted, then the air bag suspension.  Repairs exceeded value and I donated it to charity (which actually was not very charitable of me).

All cars are junk.  Some are newer junk than others.  (sorry for the drift)

Yeah, well don't know if they would go digital on the dash, but remember this is Honda, not BUICK. coolsmiley
My dad's 86 Gold WIng Aspencade's digital dash still functions just fine. Wink
