Called the motel today and Miss Reba is in a nursing home. They don't know if she will return home or not. Ground Zero is sold out ( every room , house and cottage is our group ) . Two other motels in the area. She said she would make sure we have plenty of firewood.... Looking forward to this ride .

If anyone needs to cancel for whatever reason don't call the motel . Let me know and I can keep the place just us. I always have several wanting a room at Miss Reba's.

So long as the shock/stress/surprise of that doesn't .............................. you fill in the blank.

She might not want a bunch of "studly" men seeing her in her current physical/mental state. She always kept herself looking well groomed.

Jus' an FYI on the Microtel down the street,
they're in the process of changing over to Quailty Inn & Suites.
https://www.choicehotels.com/north-carolina/robbinsville/quality-inn-hotels/nc894
Might wanna call & reconfirm any reservations.

Sorry to hear that 'bout Miss Reba, God Bless!
Y'all ride safe.

Go where the wind blows.. The folks that ride with me may or may not take a trip over The Devils Triangle . This ride has been going 10 plus years . We've never came toward The Devil. All this weather permitting. The Fall Color Ride is more hangin' out than riding after all these years plus the Ride From Hell ( Meet In The Middle 2016 ) left a very bad taste in my mouth. Doing " The Devil " will definitely change things up.

Looks like peak is gonna be 'round N.Ga. that weekend.

We've actually got Fri. off this year Shocked so plannin' to do Tallulah Gorge Fri.
They're doin' an Aesthetic Water Release from 8am to 8pm, 200 cubic feet per second (up from the typical 35/40 CFPS).
http://gastateparks.org/TallulahGorge/
Sat. probably roll down 60 from Morganton through Suches & Dahlonega to Amicalola Falls.
Color oughta be pretty good we hope.
(& the roads are outstanding with-out-a-doubt!)

(I'm even bringin' my hike'n shoes 2funny)
Might come back up Blood Mtn Cool

Have you been to Toccoa Falls? http://www.cityoftoccoa.com/toccoa-falls.cfm

Needs a good rain to make it look good otherwise it's slow and steady.

Strong chance of a police presence on Blood Mtn. Especially if the weather is good.

Always worth waiting for a group of zip splats to lead the way.  Evil

Devil's Triangle is fun.

Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary just got back to me ( I contacted them about a tour Oct 21 ) they are closed for construction. When it opens a distillery and museum will be there. They said they would make a exception if my group was at or near 500  <--- WTF   crazy2

Still thinking about riding The Devils Triangle if anyone wants to join me on the Saturday Fall Color Ride . If not that's cool with me go where you want hook up with friends and enjoy the ride ... Fingers crossed for decent weather .... Bring It ...LET'S RIDE.

Can you provide an address and time? I'm kicking around the idea of coming down from Northern Ontario for this if I can swing it. It looks to be a 15 hour run from here but if I can convince my riding partner (he's on a Wing) to go I might take a week off work and head down.

You can see the Phillips Motel on this map, and the McDonald's/Shell where lots
of us gas up.

https://goo.gl/maps/eKpodzAfoDT2

Saturday morning, probably by 9:00 or so, people will be leaving, probably
in several groups, and those two places are likely places to meet up if
you don't meet up with the whole gang on Friday night.

15 hour run

Hmmm.  Smiley ... sounds like a run to me... 15 hours into your run you'll be tooling
around in the dark on strange mountain roads miles from any Interstate roads.

Call ahead to someplace in Robbinsville to secure a place to stay. The
Phillips Motel has been sold out for this ride since last year  cooldude

You can scan this thread to see folks who might be able to hook you up...
