I've read that the blue marine formula is better than the red. Is that true?

I've tried both and can tell no difference (as far as lawn mowers go).

Take two one gallon gas cans with corn polluted gas.  Treat one with regular Stabil, and one with marine grade.  Wait 18 months.  Fuel up the lawnmower, and see how it works.

If you only wait 60-90 days, there probably is no difference.

I take minimal care of my lawnmower, I take much more care with my bikes.

PS: Truthfully, I have no idea if 18 month old corn gas is any good, no matter what you do to it.

Better? Truly I have like zero idea. My thoughts are boats and fuel tanks get covered up holding onto the humidity where high humidity is prevalent. I live where high humidity is prevalent. And at wally wurld regular or marine Stabil is priced the same. We as a group already KNOW the bad juju that goes with corn polluted-thanks Jess-gasoline left on it's own in a matter of weeks. I also KNOW approx. how long my Lady was on the lift in my shop. As I stated after I got her running and she idled and today hitting the chip in 1st 2nd and 3d-think throttle W F O-with the old gasoline that had been treated with Marine Stabil. No miss No stumble No throttle hesitation At All on the old but treated gasoline. Also my shop is neither heated nor cooled-ambient air only. The coating of dust and cobwebs attest to the truthfullness of that statement!  2funny Lets just say as the riding season shortens up Marine Stabil WILL be added to my fuel -in case!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

that is why 2-3 tanks of gas before winter sets in I put in 91 octane NON ethanol gas in my gas tanks for cycles anyways.  Other than that,  I just burn 87 octane no sense wasting money in the summer months if ran every week or two.

I also think that the blue marine stabil can use less of it for same gallons of gas it protects, but is more expensive.   I buy whatever goes on sale in the fall and also know after a few years it gets crud in the bottle so good not to buy too much of it not using it all up either.

To each his own, kinda like um, oil. I prefer Sea Foam for storage. Never an issue where as I have had with Stabil. Just use what works for you.

Just use both seafoam and stabil, mixture of both for winter storage.  That way covered either way right???   2funny

Just do not over-do either once on my push lawnmower I put stabil in the gas tank thinking I was done mowing for the season and first time ever having to take it back out 3-4 weeks later to mow one last time I could not get the darn mower started due to overdosage in that small push mower gas tank.

That overdose statement sorta turned on the light bulb!  Lips Sealed I had pulled the plugs and cleaned them and truthfully left the gap alone. The first attempt at a start up was NOT met with success. After getting battery back up to full charge before attempting another start I pulled a plug and while cranking observed a nice blue/white arc. Guessin it just took a bit to git what I wuz passing for gasoline into the combustion chambers. But with Phatt Ghurl sittin THAT long unused the very FACT that ALL the mechanicals on her are operating as they should be and I've done ALL the required maintenance speaks well of these Honda Valkyries we ride.  cooldude Yesterday I washed and shined her up. Just about done when the young Lady brought my mail. She rides an H/D. BUT she was admiring Phatt Ghurl-sun was out and the reflections off the chrome were-well-Very bright. Asked her to take a guess how old my Ghurl is. She looked again and said-maybe 5 or 6 years old.  Roll Eyes Wished I'd have had a camera as the look on her face was priceless when I told her it was comin up on 19 years old!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Yes, 19-year-olds in great shape do tend to turn heads.
