Special Weather Statement

Issued at 04:49 Friday 27 October 2017

Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are likely by Saturday morning. However, higher amounts near 15 cm are possible.

I'm sitting in my office this morning contemplating how I could possibly squeeze in another ride this year. Checked the weather and the above statement is what I found. I guess the only hope for me is to load the old girl up in the trailer and head somewhere warm.

Just started snowing here this morning.  Only supposed to get a couple inchs and I would hope that melts quickly.

First, let me state, this is a family forum and using such four letter words/language is not encouraged.  I edited out that part.   Wink

Having said that, load her up and bring her on down, we'll both ride south.   cooldude cooldude cooldude

Yeah, was -8C for my ride to work this morning. Forecast is ok for tomorrow but snow starting Sunday and highs below 0, so this is likely my last day.

Will top the fuel up with non-ethanol gas tonight, add the stabilizer, clean it up, then do the fall rear end maintenance this weekend.

Have to look at the bright side and consider myself lucky that I was able to ride this long.

The only good thing about this weather is I have fantastic shop (radiant floor heat) and all kinds of plans for the bike this winter. Hopefully working on the bike will keep me sane until spring.

yah, this sucks but is what used to be decades ago a normal start to winter.  I guess we have been lucky the past 5-6 years riding into Thanksgiving weekend later in November but not looking good for this October/November with below average temps for once in a VERY long while.

I guess is better than living along northern WI by Lake Superior shoreline they said a small band of 6-8 inches already is expected Saturday.  We just got too cold of temps (30s) and 10-15 mph winds to ride for very long or very comfortably.    The leaves in spots are slippery as well, be careful, along with those darn deer are moving as well.   Winds coming home last night at 10:30 p.m. on the cycle at near 30 mph was no fun either but at least pushing 50 degrees, NOT today though mid 30s for temps suppose to get 43 degrees for a high late afternoon.  Pushing my limits for a one hour or less ride for sure... tickedoff

first hard freeze is Saturday night 30 for a low, at least no bugs then driving right?  Time to clean the bikes up and change oil, etc.

"Buy a sled cooldude"

Yeah I tried that a few years ago but have no self control when on a lake with no speed limit so because the sled would go 120mph that what I did. I sold it before I killed myself.

I consider any riding after October 31 an unexpected bonus.  Looking at the 2-week forecast, after October 31 the warmest it's going to get is -2°C.  I would have ridden to work this morning (it was 3°C), but I need to pick up both of my kids after work and neither one will fit in a saddlebag.

I see we are two of the same breed LOL!!! That is why I bought a 600 RMK PRO 155", 85mph top speed and goes EVERYWHERE!!!!! Keep it in double digits, less chance of dying!!!!

My problem was I bought a Pantera 1000 and it was just way too fast for someone with no self control. Even riding the Valk I team up with my buddy who rides like an old woman so that tends to curb my speed. We did hit a nice road last weekend and ran at 120mph for a fair little stretch but as soon as we say a car in the distance backed right off.

My brother races cars at the track, I guess it would be fun but I really like being on the road with the Valk.
