Same on ya...can't wait to see how Detroit fairs out this year.  Hell or devils night is always a tough one on law enforcement and the fire service.  May they stay safe.

Used to enjoy this "holiday" (if it actually qualifies as such), I'm talking about the part of passing out candy to the kids.   Was fun.  The wife and I would sit on our front porch and greet all the kids that came by with the cute costumes.

Now, it's getting weird.   Teenagers with facial hair, young women dressed like hookers, parents doing or allowing some really strange stuff or giving me crap cause I limit what some of the greedy little turds can take so that there will be some for the little tykes.   Thinking this may be our last time to do this.   It's a shame cause both my wife and I enjoy seeing the little kids.

Some of our neighbors have actually had damage done to their properties on this night/weekend.
I'll end up not getting a full night's sleep because I stay up and keep the lights on just in case some of those little bastards come back.     When a tricker/treater is driving themselves, they are too old to be getting my candy.   Some of those same vehicles will drive by several times.   Trust is earned and they ain't earning nuth'n.

I think you are too old to trick or treat when you hit the age of 12.  We don't pass out candy at our house. We only have a couple kids in the neighborhood and they never stop by. Plus we are out with our kids anyway.

I don't personally celebrate the "holiday" but I do greatly enjoy giving out treats to the children.

And a Happy New Year to you also.  May you enjoy the Feis na Samhain or at least reward the Trick or Treaters.

When I was a kid, I decided that after 6th grade I was too old for trick-or-treating.  My kids are in 7th and 10th grades, and both plan to go trick-or-treating tonight.  I roll my eyes and tell them at what age I gave it up, but don't forbid their participation.

I like the little kids who really appreciate the candy.  The 3 turds who felt compelled to grab 2 candy bars abruptly told them to put one back.   Agree, much after 6th grade age 12-13 is too old.

We had trick or treaters saturday night in our town from early hours of 3-6 p.m. about 130 or so kids out and about at our house.  does not take long to run out of candy bars with going to the door every 1-2 minutes.  I too enjoy the very little kids just able to walk up our one step to the door with a big smile on their face picking out a candy bar vs. the older kids even one asking how many candy bars can we take, some nerve! uglystupid2
