While I watch my own country under Trudeau swirl the bowl, I understand why it is happening...the leeches are starting to outnumber the contributors in places where large population dominates elections.  Your electoral college system prevented that on November 8th 2016.
Since then the Democrats have gone off the rails(along with their MSM Press) with a "daily unhinged soap opera"...another example...

Think Canada would take all our naacp members?  I mean they hate America, maybe they would be happier up there.

I'd say because, "Who doesn't like free stuff?" and once the amount of leeches who vote outnumbers the amount of voters who pay for everything, the iceburg flips over. Around 20 years ago I worked for Bombardier and it was fun to listen to the Valcourt-based guys complaining about working so hard to pay the costs of central Canada "leeches" who "rented a few canoes and rowboats" all summer, hibernated like bears in winter, and got healthcare for free. Small world, huh?  Wink

Quebec based Bombardier has been subsidized countless times as well on my federal tax dollar dime... as a Western Canadian who is really tired of unending population(voter) dominant Eastern Corporate Welfare.

Asolutely, not defending them at all just thought it ironic that they sounded no different than so many other us vs them discussions, like Northern California supporting LA's cesspool, southern Illinois farmers paying Chicago's bills, etc. etc.

Seems the new buzz word for the left is diversity. Unchecked immigration based on virtue signaling.
Hows that working in German, Britain and the rest of Europe ?

On the flip side look at Japan and South Korea where they have strict immigration controls. Next to nil problems with home grown terrorism.

Want to come to Canada? Will give you free healthcare, dental, housing and spending money. Will fast track your eligibility to vote.....Liberal of course. Cheap votes so the left can never be held to account and voted out of power.

Our leader Trudeau is quoted as saying" Evangelical Christians are the worst part of Canadian society".

Christians need not apply to the Liberal Party of Canada.

I'm afraid that dumbing down is happening on both sides of the political spectrum.

If on one hand Democrats seem to be disconnected from reality proposing unrealistic ideas, the Republicans seems to have renounced their core values (e.g. financial responsibility and accountability).

Pragmatism and centrism seem to be a rarity in this days.

If you are one of those old school JFK middle of the road Democrats, you are one of a dying class of people...you know...ask not what your country can do for you....etc.

I'm well aware of JFK, thank you. My opinion is not that we are dying class but a more quiet group. There are still many thoughtful conservatives and thoughtful liberals that would be considered "in the middle". But it seems no one cares to listen to us, only to the shouting fringes. For the record I consider my leanings closer to RFK. We lost a good man there.

Being quiet is one thing but a lot of classic liberals have become submerged these days just to avoid being pilloried by those who they thought were their friends.

I must be missing something. I don't see democrats mentioned anywhere in that article. I would agree that democrats in general do not like the current administration. I don't think it's appropriate to equate that with a hate America. I didn't vote for our current president but I love America. We'll have an opportunity for change in four years and we'll see how it goes.

I would respectfully disagree that JFK was a middle of the road Democrat. He may seem like one now that the Democrats embrace pure socialists like Bernie Sanders, but like any good political speach or catchphrase one should compare the actual deeds to the "Ask not..." words. The Peace Corps took American tax dollars to subsidize wide-eyed youths go overseas to help developing nations get used to feeding off the US teat instead of being self-sufficient. Then there's Kennedy's New Frontier (expanded and renamed by Johnson as the Great Society) that really started the concept that all you need is a pulse and the ability to fog a mirror and you were, "entitled" to help yourself to your neighbors' paychecks. From there it has been a ratchet, a coal fired robot who's only task is to dig coal.

Classic liberals have become submerged these days just to avoid being pilloried by the far left, too. Take a look around UC Berkley and most sanctuary cities, the classic liberals get ripped a new one if they don't display an upside-down or rainbow altered US flag.

Not sure what you don't get about California(Democtats!!!) wanting to remove the Star Spangled Banner as your National Anthem and it will NOT stop there, just like removing historic statues did not end with Robert E Lee...where do you think the line should be??...BTW...I believe it is no longer a line,it is a slippery slope.
