Went shooting with two of my sons Mark and Chris, yesterday. A new indoor (to us) shooting range.
When we signed in Chris asked if he could shoot his BFR in 45/70 but that wasn't allowed, along with some others like the Smith .500.

I shot my Ruger LCR in 9mm. It's a lightweight revolver using full moon clips for the 9mm round. Trigger finger was stinging but the recoil wasn't bad. No backing out of the 124 gr. bullets, so ok.  I changed over to my Kimber Micro 9mm Raptor, again pleasant to shoot and a very neat mini 1911.  Same 124 gr. JHP's.

Went on to shoot Mark's Super Blackhawk (my gift to him, a three screw). It was the first time that I shot it since hunting. Two rounds, my old hunting loads, 200 gr. 1500 fps. First one strayed but second one ok and in the two inch circle at 10 yards. Typical rotating up and to the right for western style single acions in the hand but pleasant to shoot.

I then shot Chris's new Model 29 Smith. The same but no rotation and pleasant to shoot, also full power loads.  The Smith is really neat but the grips are slimmer than the old Model 29's.

I finished with about 45 rounds of CCI SGB .22's in my Ruger Model II. About a 4 inch group at 10 yards.  Nothing to brag about but I came away with good feelings that I can still shoot with my arthritic almost 90 year old hands.  I can't ride but it's nice to know that arthritis hasn't stopped me from shooting..yet! Wink

Overall, a nice pleasant morning with family.
