Anyone have advice on good car alarms?

Car worth maybe $15K (not mine) (fully insured).

Detect body bump/tampering, adjustable sensitivity, maybe interface with smart phone (is this a good thing?).

I would not install it, what should it cost to get it done?

Thanks in advance.

If existing tech of car is relevant, it's a somewhat collectible, minty, low miles Merc Marauder.

FWIW, two LEO friends of mine both recommend a well-concealed tracking device and good insurance. If you can look at your phone and tell 911 instantly where your stolen car is, you're ahead of most alarms.

that is a good idea never thought of that if it costs less than a car alarm, but then again,  the alarm would scare off intruders BEFORE they stole your car and probably beat it up or wrecked it.

I hear on the local news that vehicles in Madison WI (somewhat safe areas) are being stolen recently (lots of them) from 12-14 year old boys who go out joy riding in them and then dump them off somewhere for the heck of it.  Then again, these young kids are just thinking they can get away with it since so young and people are stupid enough to not lock their car doors in their driveways as well.   uglystupid2
