I've changed much in my physical appearance over the years. I'm bald. I'm fat. I've got a gray beard. I've got hair coming out my ears and nose. I've got age spots. Lately I've noticed I'm growing barnacles on my bald head.  Shocked WTF ! What's next ? Moss growing in my armpits ?

Being serious, you need to have those checked by a dermatologist. Sooner rather than later.

Aktinic Keratosis.  (I have all those other things you mentioned too)

Had it for years.  Finally went through a topical treatment that cleared it up (your whole head weeps and bleeds and you would not want to be at work in your profession)(I wasn't at work for mine, but I could have been).  And it's back.  They love to call it pre-cancer, but it is rarely a real problem.

If you're not already, wear a hat in ALL sun. (not that that helps with what you already have)

Sunblock your face for all outdoor activities (like riding).  I never do my head because I don't want a greasy helmet.  What you don't want is keratosis on your nose, and that is what always gets the worst sun (assuming you are in a hat).  A surgical divot on your head is no big deal, but you don't want one on your nose.

Thanks for the concern. They checked them a few years back. Said it was nothing to worry about. I don't remember what they called them (probably what Jess referred to). Just struck me as weird how crap is changing. As they say, getting old isn't for sissies.
Dennis, I haven't partaken in any activities I'd need penicillin for years.  Smiley (but there was a time)  cooldude

Wow, just think what your wife will have to put up with in 20 years! Grin  Seems as we age that often when we get together it turns into an organ recital.  Wink

It's refreshing that in this old-guy-health-issues post doesn't (yet) discuss plumbing (digestive stuff).

Well, my hair's thinning, but at a slow enough rate that should I get barnacles, they won't be visible for many years. And I'm not in the habit of putting my head in seawater, either.

Keep going back to Skin-Doc, your spots may change.  I have had issues for 10 years.  The sins of my youth are catching up with me.   Too many days out in the sun at elevation without adequate clothing and sun block (who knew 50 years ago).

So far only one small spot had to be removed years ago, but have had creams that cause skin to look like I got in a fight (and lost) with a cat to sitting in an enclosure with blue lights for 20 minutes.  Oh what fun.

Doing better now, only a couple spots that were found in last yearly visit and had to be treated.

Snorkeled a LOT in the P I when i was stationed there and as soon as i could after a launch or recovery the long sleeved jacket and cloth helmet i was Required to wear during such ops came off to enjoy the sun.  cooldude On the white concrete parking ramp in the P I i got away with a short sleeve shirt as often as i could. Tween the sun and salt water while in the tropics-lets just say the hair was bleached out by the sun and salt water and i was a deep shade of tan!  2funny Only thing gits tanned now are my arms and my face. At this point in time no apparent ill effects from my time in the sunshine. RIDE SAFE.
