I am looking at one specific vehicle and really don't want to pay upwards of $25 if I don't have to. (Yeah, I acknowledge I am being kinda cheap.) uglystupid2

Dave, be careful of the low priced services. I don't recall the site names but in my former life(before retiring) I would run across them from time to time during an investigation. You pay as little as $10-15, give them your VIN to check out, get back a fake record and they now have a good VIN to use elsewhere.

  Dave , we use our insurance company. Easiest way is give them the info and get an insurance quote. They will usually  run the vin before the quote (if they are smart).  We bought a car in Florida and did this before the purchase.
