Since Bonnie is in Fl for the weekend visiting friends I had the opportunity to spend time doing chores, walking the dog 4 miles, splitting some firewood from the stacks piled along my fence line, cleaning the gutters etc

but the best part was around noon I took a break/ aired the tires to 41-44 and rode on the Valkyrie out past the Croton Gorge Park and the dam, east and west over and over but in a northerly direction each time until I got to my friend's Jewel of Himalaya Restaurant in Cortlandt Triangle Center. He is a real Sherpa, his village is the Everest base camp and I had some awesome chicken garlic soup and some entree's to go that will be dinner and maybe snack on Sunday.

On the way back I got to hammer the Valkyrie and avoided the state trooper hiding on the upgrade north of 134  angel police coolsmiley  She flew like the dragon she is.

and again got to hammer the Valkyrie down 100,

It was cool but not cold  low 40's slightly overcast no wind

I never put on the tunes but kept humming this song

Couldnt figure if I was humming it for the bike or my wife.  Maybe a bit of both

This is the original mtv video which I would skip if I was you

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZGXRCI-JzQ

Because the version I was humming was this one done by stroker ace.....Lets call this Oss' congressional audition video for the folks who already put their Valks to bed for the season

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pgybc41d68

How do you know when its love, I cant tell you but it lasts forever
My Valkyrie never keeps me guessing

And like I think DDT would say if he listened to Van Halen, its something you feel together. Do you feel it?  Nothings missing
Hope lots of valk miles were ridden today by vrcc'ers

Just got back from a short ride myself, 54° and no wind, Must be the chaps, leather coat, helmet and gloves, or could be the cold tires, fork and shock oil, but the I/S definitely handles differently in the lower temps,  Shocked I seem to ride a bit slower because of it.  Still feels great to be on two wheels in December.  cooldude

I also got a late fall, pre-winter ride in today on the I/S.

Wasn't a lot of miles, under 100, but it was mostly New England back roads up near the Quabbin Reservoir.  So, quality over quantity.

Lot's of pick-ups parked as it's deer season.

Upper 30's, low 40's.

Got to check out a barn concrete foundation that was just pored.  Gonna frame it in a couple weeks.

2 1/2 hours of oak leaf blowing, raking. 4th blow/rake of the leaf drop season.

So many leaves compared to recent years.

So few acorns compared to recent years.

One more blow to be done once the final leaves drop.

I have covered an area about 60 feet x 20 feet to a depth of nearly 2 feet with the leaves I've collected so far.

I ride tomorrow. Sunday.  cooldude

It was T-shirt weather cooldude. About as close to perfect as you could get. Even starting out this morning at 8 it was nice. No wind even at the pass by Palm Springs. We did have a little scare in Joshua Tree though. Turned down a campground loop road that I hadn't been on before. About a 1/4 mile in hit deep sand and the front wheel caught, almost went down. Scared Brenda a little. Had her get off so I could get turned around. All was well. Hopefully I got some decent video, and will post later.  cooldude

Thanks for the ride Evan!
I had to give 1 more shot at Bambi today, no ride. BUT, I did skip hunting Wednesday as it was 50* and added 200 miles to the bike. Had an awesome ride to Rt116 & back. Pretty much had the roads to myself!
Came across a new road hazard though...came out of a right corner, and the road was white, and 4 inches thicker than the rest of the road. Came to a quick stop & realized it was salt. Guessing someone’s tailgate broke and he don’t use mirrors. U turn solved that problem. Filled the tank & Seafoamed it, might really be the last ride till spring. Rolled her back into the garage just before 5pm.

Challenger, agree the I/S handles very different in the cold, and I think she runs & sounds better in the cold too.

I hope you're referring to the 'Canes.  Smiley

Not much of a fun game for the 'Canes fan.   Sad

Thanks for the rides.  I sit here drinking coffee and reading what you guys are doing while looking out the window at White.  Only good thing is it should be gone by mid week.

Enjoy.

Those PSI are what I normally use in the summer, but seem kinda high for cold concrete ol man winter slabs  coolsmiley
Mine were ~38 psi today, so that's what I used.

Thanks for postage.

So, Bonnie goes away, and you start listening to sappy love songs?!?!  2funny

Hey Gig, I don't run rear tire at 38 unless temp is down there as well.

Seems Bonnie's  jet plane had a fuel line problem so she will be stuck in Atlanta overnite after Jetblue brings a new plane to Jacksonville later tonite.  That means I dont have to go to the airport at 11pm tonite and the airline will pay for her hotel and cab home tomorrow.

Isn't it great that when you don't yell at the nice lady at the counter you get lots of perks, like hotel, cabfare and a good seat. She even was thanked for being so nice.  Whatever they have been serving her at the bar, we need some of it once she gets home   angel

Sadly she forgot to take audition pics tonite, I'll ask her to see if she spots a bodacious jetblue employee in the morning to take a pic for you and Lulu. Meantime, yes I miss her. Good thing I got to ride my dragon.   cooldude
