As I was riding home from work today this song came on thru my headset. It took me back to a time when I was young, a little wild, doing some things I probably shouldn't be doing. By the grace of God I survived my youth. They were some fun times and I wouldn't take them back for anything. But I sure wouldn't to go thru that again. Hope you enjoy their music as much as I did, and do.

Always been a bluegrass and country music guy, but I do have a connection with Heart.
Originally from Northern WA, they got their real start in Vancouver BC and believe it or not were the band that played at my high school grad in 1974 at Poco High in little old Port Coquitlam BC. I don't think many of us had ever heard of them, and most of us didn't stick around to hear them play either. Right after the ceremonies and dinner (which all our parents were at as well) we all buggered off up to Sasamat Lake to have a "real" party, leaving the "old folks" to dance the night away with Heart. Years later, I would always chuckle a bit about that when I thought about how big Heart would get first in Vancouver and  Canada and then eventually in the US, etc. Funny thing...I don't remember a thing now about that night up at the lake, but I do remember Heart being at the grad dance... 2funny

Good story Mike.  cooldude

Geography I guess.  When I was still in HS, we went to see Ted Nugent at the local Wyandotte street fair and Bob Seger at local Thomas Aquinas HS gym.  Everyone has to start somewhere.  Pre 1971 (older fart).

I'd never heard of Nugent or his music and wouldn't have been a fan regardless, but Bob Seger...now there was one of the very few rock artists I actually purchased tapes (yes Beardo, they would've been 8-track tapes  Grin) of and listened to. Some of the best songs ever to hit the highway with on a road trip ... my '72 Plymouth Satellite at the time comes to mind  coolsmiley One thing I like about VRCC Jess, there's plenty of "older farts" here making me feel a bit younger  Wink

Hey Jess...ever go down to The Village on Woodard near the Vernor's plant or the Fox for the Motown Reviews?  (Maybe before your time)

I don't think so, but my memories of those days is not entirely complete.  I was at the Grandee Ballroom and Eastown Theater many, many times.  I probably lost a lot of brain cells and hearing acuity there.  (walls of Marshall amplifiers)

Tis a shame the sisters are at odds with each other, a really good rock band and great voice of Nancys.

That is a funny story MSB.

Jess - first real band I saw was Ted Nugent back in the day with the Amboy Dukes and it would have been around 71 at Central Intermediate Jr. High School in Midland, MI which had a great auditorium.  Have enjoyed him several times since as I have Bob Seger, last time 3 years ago in Dayton.  Still has good pipes for being 70.  He was actually at a bar in Cheboygan just having drinks in winter of 83.  I think my friend Rick and myself were the only people who knew who he was.  I do not think he rolled out of Mackinaw City on his big two wheeler in February, maybe a snowmobile which we rode in one.
