I was just checking the Radar App on my phone and noticed that ALL of the interstates around Atlanta were solid red.

It made me wonder if you had the day off?

Amazing! We get into a panic here in NE indiana when we have 6 inches or more of snow.  Michigan thinks 6 inches is just a dusting.

Depends on where you live and your attitude (and number of snow plows.)

We're getting mostly rain / sleet right now - temps just above freezing. It is not expected to drop into freezing range until Saturday night.

NC is almost as bad as Atlanta and other southern cities on "SNOW" and freezing roads. I don't usually have problems (since I grew up out in Kansas), but I really hate getting out on these roads because so many drivers around here are utterly clueless - 4WD DOES NOT EQUAL 4wheel STOP - I'll be chugging along at a safe speed, when I get passed by Billy Bob flying by me in his jacked up 4wd Pickup - and about a mile down the road I'll pass Billy Bob in his wrecked truck off the side of the road.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it  Cheesy cooldude

Yeah, all Southern drivers are idiots and don't know how to drive in snow/ice conditions except me and you. You're really not that great either! coolsmiley

Coming from up north of Chicago almost to Wisconsin then moving to East Texas-Garrison Nacogdoches area-was an eye opener the first "winter" there. 2 inches of snow paralyzed the entire area til it melted off 3 days later.  uglystupid2 One of the dispatchers called me-Holly Farms of Texas til Tyson bought them out-and asked did I wanna go to California. They had about 3 inches on the ground and none of the "drivers"  Roll Eyes wanted to leave the house cuz of the "weather conditions". Yeah sez I-I need the money. Couldn't git many of the "drivers" to go to Colorado once the snow started flyin. And in the winter the Seguin Texas "drivers" would NOT go north of I-10. RIDE SAFE.

Boy we have a lot of those guys too.  We don't get all that much snow here, ice is much more common (and dangerous).  And you're right, it's not the snow and ice that's bad, but you take your life (and nice car) in your hands if you venture out and around in it with the other drivers.

My wife (who I only partially taught to drive successfully) called one blizzard night and said she was lost and stuck in a snow bank.  I asked if she was close to any motels, and she said there was one down the road.  Telling her to lock up the truck where it was and walk over and get a room was apparently not the response she was looking for.   tickedoff

Video at 5pm.

It's now 8 pm and a further 2 inches has fallen in the past 2 hours.

Canton GA has had about 10 inches so far.

Forecast is for snow pretty much all night.
