Thank goodness the Valk is hunkered down in a nice warm garage because it's cold enough to freeze the nuts off a steel bridge. Temperature is -22C (-8F) outside this morning

-22 is when we put on some shorts and let our nuts thaw out.

Ya, I hear you all.....I actually had to put on a jacket once last week, and take an extra lap around the pitch to warm up for my soccer match  Grin

Oh, and you can't like the song Baby It's Cold Outside anymore. It's now been declared a "date rape anthem" under our new standards.

Hmmm....only -8F?  Back in the early 60's when stationed at Loring AFB outside of Caribou, ME it was not unusual to see that -8 with a 3 in front of it. We were warned to not relieve ourselves on the flightline in those temps 'cuz if you weren't circumcised before, you would be by the time the drs. were done with you. And people ask why I moved to Florida.....after 51 years down here I'm about thawed out.  Grin

It was 51 when I got on the Connie this AM. Came home at 79. These Arizona winters are brutal. If I ever leave here, it'll be for someplace warm.

Weather Underground station around the corner from me indicates 40 deg...will definitely have the seat and grip warmers on today. STill trying to hold off on stepping up to the 3 season jacket until I really need it.

Yes, that's cool alright, now try -39F without a windchill factor. You go inside to relieve yourself and it takes you five minutes just to get down to that layer, you learn to not wait until the last minute.  Grin

And once you get thru all the layers of clothes, it takes another 5 minutes to coax out Willie, who is behaving like scared turtle.  Wink

Yawn, in Wisconsin we wait until it's -23°f  Wink

but we do get dressed after shoveling, to go riding (wind chill).

Before Nam I really looked forward to winter. Tons and tons of money to be made in winter conditions. Even IF they lived in snow country all their lives there was Still an abundance of dumb asses to make it worth my while to git em unstuck-fer a price. Tween shoveling snow and other unpleasant tasks others did NOW relish-well that's where I came in. Apartment buildings first thing in the morning-round 05:30 or so were rich grounds -15 and yer car won't start? RIDE SAFE.

   Winter, bah-hum-bug!
For the last 19yrs ive been fixing broken water mains, clearing backed up sewer mains and plowing streets in the winter. Each year it seems to get colder and harder to do. Men and machinery just don't function the same as in warmer weather! Compounding all this is the fact my beloved Valk goes into hibernation. Cry
Before this job I loved the winters. I enjoyed ice fishing and earned extra cash plowing. Retirement will bring a more southerly address. I cannot imagine living any further north than where I am now.
